But the fishcakes... *by A***N on March 24, 2022* I'm not going to lie. This was absolutely delicious. The sauce was creamy and the rice cakes are soft and chewy. It showed no signs of being bland at all. I added a little more water than required because I like my sauce just a little bit soupy and not to thick. The flavor did not go away. This was honestly a dream come true because this had fish cakes. The fish cakes had a slightly sweet flavor. The consistency was springy. But I don't know if it goes with a sauce like carbonara. But it tasted nice. I tried korean Samyang fire noodles, most of the flavors they had. I tried regular rice cakes. Absolutely in love with them. But the fish cakes were a dream come true. I can see why they were all the rage in Korean street food. I might as well visit korea to compare cause each type is made by different chefs after all. So if may have a different flavor than what I tasted. Now I do recommend this, but not specifically the carbonara flavor, because it's fish mixed with a creamy sauce, and the flavor of the fish is deep. Cause the flavor of the sauce drowns it out. Now these rice cakes without the fishcakes would be fine. Overall, it was five stars. I hope this review helps. I'm trying to remain respectful of Korean food culture after all while voiceing my opinion. Aside from that, a great snack. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Surprisingly delicious *by P***R on March 2, 2022* I ordered this item out of curiousity and it actually turned out to be surprisingly delicious.Upon opening the container I found two vacuum sealed packets, one of rice and one of fish. They seemed fresh and pliable but one I opened the fish packet I was overwhelmed with a unique smell. I went ahead and made the item per instructions. It looked good and I was hesitant to try it as I've never had anything quite like this before.I first tried the rice cake and it was tasty, chewy and held its shape. The next was the fish and it smelled ok but the taste was absolutely delicious. The many pieces of meat just teased me to try some more and I certainly did.This was not at all what I expected but I'm glad that I tried it. I'll certainly keep this in my pantry as it's surprisingly delicious, easy to prepare and satisfying. ### ⭐ Paid for a 6-pack, but was sent only 2---which was probably for the best because this is disgusting *by D***. on September 25, 2022* I absolutely love classic tteokbokki, and I had high hopes for this carbonara-style one, but holy crap does this taste absolutely disgusting. The fish cakes taste ok but they really don't go well with the sauce.I paid for a 6-pack and was sent only 2 bowls. Amazon gave me a refund and I tossed the 2nd bowl unopened after trying one out. Yuck.
