I filled it with another set of woodless colored pencils as a gift for a grand-daughter. The box holds 8 pencils and protects them from breaking. It's not too large, so it fits inside of a zipper pouch with a sketch book. My original box held a single fountain pen in a foam case.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Took a star off because a pencil does not fit in here pens only

This would be perfect IF a pencil actually fit. I was able to get three ball point pens (I didn't try to get more) in the box. But pencils are too long which is a pretty big drawback. Otherwise it's perfect. I prefer metal over plastic and the hinged top is a big plus. Really a nice item. Now looking for one that will fit pencils.
