Review: out of all the three bad boys mentioned in the Manwhore series - Womanizer was not what I expected! First of all, out of all the three bad boys mentioned in the Manwhore series, (Saint, Tahoe and now Callan) I imagined Callan to be completely different. I also expected Olivia to actually know Callan! Like….your big brother has been friends with this guy for years! Surely you’ve seen pictures or catched a glimpse of him at events and such right? That’s a big no for Olivia who doesn’t even recognize the ‘hot smoker guy’ she’s been talking to and hanging out with…is actually her boss and brother’s best friend. The guy she’s been fantasizing over and opening up to. GAHHHH. As a reader I obviously realized who he was, I immediately saw what was going to happen but the entire time I thought to myself, ‘this is going to be SO bad!’ And yet I kept reading, my heart racing faster and faster until the moment they found out who the other person was and my heart exploded. The rest of Womanizer went by in a big, happy blur. Callan has obviously slept around and has a reputation throughout Chicago for it, but something about Livvy draws him to her. Which is somewhat of an issue considering one, she works for him. Two, she is also his best friend’s sister who apparently already warned Callan to stay away from. I love watching the funny, somewhat awkward and swoon worthy way they met and I loved watching them fall for one another. It’s a great story about two people falling in love with one another when they didn’t plan to and they also weren’t part of each other’s plan. Womanizer is in fact a love story, but it also has hidden undertones. People get so wrapped up in their futures, their plans that when something wonderful happens…they don’t know what to do. Or they can’t do something or be with someone because it doesn’t fit into their plan. Being too afraid to take that leap of faith isn’t living and that’s something that Katy Evans also writes about in Womanizer. An important message that I feel like every twenty something should know and hear. I really, really, really liked Olivia. I think it’s important as writers and authors that different stories from different perspectives are told. Olivia clearly has a plan for herself; first and foremost she wants to be a businesswoman and establish a career. Not every woman wants a relationship right away, love is put on the back burner until they can get some other things out of the way first. However, life is a tricky thing and random things happen both good and bad and things change. Sometimes for worse, sometimes for better…either way I think Katy Evans wrote a pretty good book about how sometimes your plan changes and you have to switch things around. Growing up in this country there’s a lot of things that we are ‘told we have to do’ or we have to ‘follow a certain plan’ without veering off it. It’s just really nice to read something that shows it’s okay to venture of the path of your plan and it was nice to watch Olivia deal with that and relate to it. And of course I loved Callan, he was kind of this intense quiet, bad boy vibe type of guy in Womanizer, but he also reminded me a of little boy who refused to quit until he got what he wanted; something I always enjoy reading about honestly. I loved Womanizer very much! It wasn’t at all what I was expecting but I think that’s the main reason I loved it so much. Olivia and Callan will forever hold a special place in my heart and thanks to another great book by Katy Evans, I can add another beautiful story to my bookshelf.
Review: Another swoon worthy hero from Katy Evans - Womanizer by Katy Evans 4 stars!!! “Don’t talk, act. Don’t say, show. Don’t promise, prove.” Callan Carmichael is the last man standing, he is now the most wanted bachelor in Chicago, the hottest and the richest, but the ladies have no chance. Callan Carmichael is a Womanizer, he doesn’t have the propensity to love, only to scratch an itch, but what happens when you meet the one…what happens when you meet your game changer? “I don’t know that I can love someone that deeply…” Olivia Roth is Tahoe’s little sister and Tahoe is definitely the big brother, uber protective, his sister is his world. Olivia is business oriented and having finished her degree she struggles to get the internship of her dreams, she needs work experience. Tahoe gets her an internship at Carma, his best friends company, but she gets it on her own merit too. Three months to make her mark and then she will return to the job of her dreams. Her life is mapped out, there are no slip roads for her to take detours, she is a motorway kind of girl, peddle to the metal, full steam ahead, but sometimes life maps have journeys of their own, you just need to be brave enough to take the slip road. “If he can’t take a little competition and would let something like hardware prevent him from knowing me then I’m not interested. He gets none of my freckles.” Katy Evans never fails to deliver a swoon worthy hero and Callan Carmichael is definitely no exception. This man was simply adorable in all ways. Callan was extremely motivated and focused, he had built his company from the ground up and was now hugely successful, revered and feared, but also highly misunderstood. There was more to the man that the womanizer everyone perceived him to be, they just had to remove the stars from their eyes to find it. “I’m in so deep…so effing deep.” Olivia was a little spunky despite her professional outward appearance, rules were made to be broken or maybe just a little bent. Starting her new job at Carma was as terrifying as it was exciting and at the end of her first day she just wants to escape and unwind, so she heads to the terrace for some fresh air. Spotting a guy having a smoke break she strikes up conversation as they share a cigarette, they have a lot in common and sometimes it is nice just to talk, to off load. Their end of day cigarette breaks become an everyday occurrence, an event that is the highlight of Olivia’s day, in a place where she knows no-one, she has found her first friend…but is he the kind of friend she needs? The next day I ask her “Should I tell him I love him?” The last day, “If I should tell him I love him, send me a sign.” I hear rustling behind me, glance up at a tall oak to spot two squirrels effing. “What is that supposed to mean? Really, Nana!” This is a story of forbidden love in so far as you don’t sleep with your boss and definitely not your brothers best friend, but like I said Olivia is spunky, rules are made to be bent. Callan Carmichael doesn’t stand a chance, a first for a man who has direction, strength, determination and will power. Life has a way of throwing you curveballs when you least expect it, neither saw it coming, neither ducked, it just hits them full pelt. Love. An extremely powerful emotion, the question is… do you run to it…or away from it? “Before her, I never wanted to be better or worthy of a single thing. You don’t need to be worthy of what you own if you can afford it. But the love of your girl…that’s something a man needs to own.” Once again Katy Evans delivers a winner. Smoking chemistry, combustible between the sheets, fantastic character connection, low on the angst (except when Tahoe finds out) but overall a real cute I didn’t see it coming romance. For me, being the greedy cow I am, I wanted more. I wanted more at the end despite the smile inducing, heart-warming epilogue. We have been with these characters for a while now and it is always hard to let go at the end. There were a few characters introduced, a few that I hope will get their own stories so that this series can be continued. I loved catching up with Saint and Tahoe et al, this group are a band of brothers, united they stood and united they fell…in love. “I’m trapped and I’ve never felt so effing free.”

Womanizer was not what I expected! First of all, out of all the three bad boys mentioned in the Manwhore series, (Saint, Tahoe and now Callan) I imagined Callan to be completely different. I also expected Olivia to actually know Callan! Like….your big brother has been friends with this guy for years! Surely you’ve seen pictures or catched a glimpse of him at events and such right? I literally *just* finished the last line of Womanizer, Katy Evan’s latest contemporary romance. Right now I am flying on an emotional high, soaring and practically levitating because of the power of Katy Evans’ words. After I finished Mr. President, I said to myself “there is no way that Ms. Evans can ever top this.” Now I sit here in awe of just how wrong that I was to ever doubt her in the first place, because Womanizer just punched me right in my chest and carved a very special place in my heart. Womanizer tells the story of Olivia Roth, a young woman who lands an internship at Carma Inc., one of the most prestigious, multi-billion dollar firms in Chicago after her brother calls in a favor to help her further her career. Fired up and motivated by her ambition to pave her own way in the business world, Olivia relocates to Chicago from Texas and prepares herself to acquire the skills that she will need to become a successful businesswoman. On her first day she meets a smoking-hot man on the terrace and they share a cigarette while they indulge in conversation. What Olivia does not realize is that her sexy as hell “hot smoker guy” is really the CEO of Carma Inc. and one of her brother’s best friends, Callan Carmichael. Callan is the “last man standing” in a trio of wealthy, powerful men who also happen to be best friends. He is determined to avoid traveling the road to commitment and his promiscuous ways land him the well-deserved title of “Womanizer.” In spite of their best intentions, Olivia and Callan’s connection is visceral, deep and instantaneous; the chemistry between them is truly something to behold. The way that he wants Olivia just consumed me, overwhelmed me and had my heart galloping in my chest. “I want to make it clear that I have no shame when it comes to you. No rules I won’t break for you. Something about you gets to me like nothing ever has. I say the word woman, I think of you. Female, I think of you. Sexy, I think of you. Sweet, I think of you.” ~Callan The way that he walks, the sound of his voice, that dirty mouth of his….everything about him screams sex. But when he gets Olivia within the four walls of a bedroom…..all I can say is this: You will be owned and you will be ruined. And I think that I will leave it at that. 😉 I almost wanted to hate Olivia because I wanted a real life Callan for myself! It is so rare that an author can make you fall hard for a character, but hot damn Katy has that golden touch, an innate ability to make you fall in love with her characters through the strength of her talented writing. Womanizer is everything that a romance novel should be. It literally took my breath away, warming me like the rays of the sun. As I sit here writing this review and thinking about Olivia and Callan’s love story I am melting inside like a warm, gooey, freshly- baked chocolate lava cake. The last line of this book is a quintessential example of absolute perfection. Katy Evan’s Womanizer left a permanent impression on my soul and uplifted my spirit. Read it!!!!! If you don’t, you will be missing out on one of the hottest, most sensual and emotionally gratifying reads of 2016!! And that my friends is my final word. Overall: I refuse to give this book a number of stars. There are NO stars that are good enough for this book. Heat: I have no words for this amount of steamy goodness!!! 10 out of 5 searing flames! This is one of those books that will have you grabbing your partner and rocking until the cops come knocking!!! *I am not kidding*
