Update June 4, 2017: I still love these wheels. They make a tremendous difference on hard floor, very smooth movement. Highly recommended. Fit just right in my standard office chair and it's a real treat to feel the very smooth rolling around now. I didn't know these things existed, but happened upon them on Amazon. Given my stained and scored concrete floor is totally messed up from the standard wheels, this is a true save. The wheels are on the chair only two days now, so I am not speaking to longevity, but, golly, these new wheels are amazing. Prior to ordering, I pulled a wheel from my chair and did my best to measure the stem, so I was hoping these would fit, and indeed they do. The wheels are taller than the previous ones, but with the up/down chair adjustments, the height didn't matter. Holding the wheels gives the impression of quality: the bearings operate very easily and the "tire part" is well constructed and smooth.

The wheels came in awaful conditon wrapped in plastic. There was lot od dust and debris. The ball bearings were missing small balls and oil was leaking.

I have these on a crappy chair so my rolling ability is somewhat stifled. I don't think it's the casters though. I think it's the crappy chair and my being overweight. These may deserve a 5 star rating but until I get them on a new chair, I won't know 100%. I think they're good and would perform well on a good chair. Update : Just under 2 years of use. My weight of 350lbs may have taken a toll on these. They are no longer so quiet. I don't think it's the wheel. It's the bearings in the area where the stem feeds in. Overall they're still working fine so I'll only take it down to a 3 star.

Really high quality product. Like others, i had an Ikea chair where these posts were just a bit too big for holes in the chair. So, an option for those of you who are handy, I just bored out the holes in the chair with drill bit. Replacement wheels fit great and love the result.

I'm very happy with these casters. They look really cool and, unlike most plastic casters, these roller-blade replacement casters are premium quality. Bought these to replace stock wheels on my chair. I'm a heavy guy so this was what I needed to roll over medium shag carpet with ease. It also stopped my carpet from wrinkling and bulging up in front of them when I rolled forward. One problem is when I sit in a spot too long they create nice indents in the carpet and take a bit more effort to roll out of the holes (a plastic mat would solve this as its not a problem with the wheels). They seem very durable and snapped right in with little effort and roll on hardwood very very easily. Warning: Watch out for toes or animal tails (OUCH)

Nice wheels, but they add too much height to a chair. Didn't allow my chair to fit under the desk when added.

I really like these casters. I just installed them and they raised the height of my chair about 1 to 1-1/2 inches. This is exactly what i was looking for because my chair is a bit low for my desk and I'm a bit short wasted and always have to put something on my chairs to reach my desk otherwise my shoulder would cramp up from the awkward position. These casters raised my seat back up to a more comfortable and natural height. These wheels are very well made and are incredible smooth. I'd recommend these to replace cheap hard plastic wheels on most office chairs. I will prob replace all the casters I currently have with this product.
