My favorite lens for my favorite camera.
The most useful lens I have for my favorite camera, the Nikon Zfc. I have two other lenses for this camera, but this is the one I use most often It is sharp and light weight. I use this camera and lens for landscape and people photography. I have other Nikon cameras and lenses that I use professionally. This is the camera and lens that I like to travel with.

Fantastic everyday lens for my Z50ii
The 18-140 has been a wonderful everyday lens for my Z50ii. Fantastic sharpness and great resolution for the aps-c Nikon Z cameras.

Good walk around lens for the Nikon Z50
Overall, I like this lens. It offers better than average optical quality and a good zoom range for single lens use. While the optics are good, the lens does display some distortion, particularly at the widest zoom setting. The lens construction is plastic so it isn't heavy duty, but in my opinion, the lightweight construction is what makes it perfect for use with the Z50. After lugging around heavy cameras and lenses for years, I appreciate the photo quality I get from this lightweight camera system.

Great lens
I just made the change to mirrorless digital cameras and have been purchasing new lenses. The mirrorless lenses are excellent. I find them very sharp and clear. They capture beautiful images with impressive detail. To my eye, they out perform the DSLR lenses. They are considerably lighter and much simpler. The camera’s autofocus and image stabilization system works very well with the lens. I’m not a professional, but an enthusiastic amateur who’s been using Nikon cameras and lenses for 20+ years. I’m impressed and very satisfied with my latest additions.

Fine lens, perfect with Z50
I’ve found the F mount version to be a versatile lens, so when I bought the Z50 I added the FTZ adapter and figured I’d be set. And I was until I wanted to use on one of my DSLRs. In the end, it seemed worth adding the Z Mount version, and glad I did. It’s a great *little* lens. Well made. Perfect balance, feels natural to hand hold. Almost macro like close focus. Focusing is *much* faster than using FTZ adapted lenses. Sharp, clean images. I got an amazingly sharp, shake free image in near darkness, pushing the camera to 10,000 (!) ISO wide open at 1/10 sec. Well worth the price, and as a Prime member with a Prime VISA was able to buy at no interest with payments spread over time.

My FAVOURITE lens for my Nikon Z50 mirrorless. It's fast, it's nice it, not too heavy. I rarely use my kit 16-50, 50-250, or 50 prime anymore as it's good enough as my every day use.

For its steep price, Nikon seems to have developed this lens with cost-saving in mind. Built in Thailand, it has high starting apertures, comes with a plastic mount and plastic everything else. Also, moving the focus ring requires quite a bit of unnecessary effort. But otherwise it takes good sharp pictures.

For the price, the image quality is good. But beyond 50mm, the lens slow/dark very quickly and I find it difficult to use in poor lighting situations. eg: sky high ISO and unreliable continuous AF... It's especially bad when using AF-C to track fast subjects in low light conditions. I had many out of focus shots because of that. I'm waiting for Sigma / Tamron to do port their f2.8 lens such as :18-50 or 17-70 to the z mount. I returned the lens and now waiting for my refund. Update 2025 After I replaced my z50 with a z50_II, this lens performs brilliantly. Sharp, fast enough AF and accurate AF even in not so bright conditions. Modern software can fix high ISO noise. So this lens has become my fav travel lens .

This lens provides great image quality, equal to or better than my other Nikon lenses. After owning a Sigma 10-24 mm lens, I decided to stick with Nikon. The lens focuses very quickly and quietly. It operates smoothly for an all-plastic lens. I do not like that it has a plastic lens mount, which presumably will not last as many mount-dismount cycles compared to a metal mount. However, unless used by a professional who keeps changing lenses frequently, this should not be a concern. It is expensive, but what is the alternative? It is much lighter and performs much better than AF-S DX 55-200 mm lens with FTZ adapter that I was using before. Unfortunately it does not come with a lens hood. You have to pay extra for it.

Light weight, good for travel. But it is better with a 16-200mm zoom.
