You are paying for quality, but make sure you can live with a lock that is so hard to get duplicates for. I don't think that many people need this feature. The tail piece is vertical, so make sure it is suitable for your lock, or it won't work.

This is an amazing and affordable cylinder. I bought it to replace one in our apartment that we didn't have the key for. Installation was pretty easy. I used some of the parts of the old cylinder so it was less work on my part. I would definitely buy it again if necessary. It is definitely a high quality cylinder. It fit our door beautifully. I looks very and feels sturdy. Locking and unlocking it felt very smooth.

A locksmith made a hash of it when he installed a lock like this after we locked ourselves out of our apartment. His installation worked itself loose within a few months. I damaged his lock when trying to correct his errors, so I ordered this replacement, paying less than 1/5 the amount the locksmith charged - not including his labor. It took me about a day to install it myself. I tried to copy his installation first. I eventually figured out the locksmith had installed the bezel backwards, had not secured the backing plate to the inside of the door with mounting screws, and had not added washers to correct for the fact that the door was not completely flat. The lock now turns easily and does not bind. I am completely satisfied that this is a quality lock. I recommend that the seller include step-by-step installation instructions in his packaging for the non-locksmiths like me that wish to save a lot of money by self-installation.

The lock functions very smoothly and looks great as well. Arrived with two keys, key duplication card, as well as hardware for installing it. Would definitely purchase again.
