Solid 20A extension cord. No complaints besides I wish it was easier to decipher the sounds of when it's locked vs when it is loose still. Great length, mounting, retracting, and swivel functionality. Easy to use and seems durable but only been a year.

I've used this for a few months now and it's awesome. I bought this over the cheaper big box brands because the reviews consistently said they fail after a while. This thing is solid and feels like it can withstand much more than I will ever do to it. The triple tap outlet is sturdy. Easy to install - Some reviewers said that you don't need to remove the bracket to install it but I wanted to use some large washers that would not clear the angle without removing the bracket. It took about 2 minutes. It's obviously designed to remove the bracket easily even if it's mounted in an awkward place. Strong wheel and good locking mechanism - I can walk the cord out 40 feet and still easily get the wheel lock to catch. The retraction is strong and it's a good idea to hold on to the cord instead of letting it whip around on it's way back into the case. The power indicator light in the plug is very handy but it's a little dim in the sunlight.

4/11/23 - just got the product today so I cannot speak for longevity, but so far impressed. The bracket is attached with two Phillips bolts / nuts that go through a thicker bolt on the sides. Remove those (1 minute with a screw driver) and it allows you to take the black bracket off. Makes mounting it anywhere a lot easier. Prior tenant installed a wood block to two studs in my garage (for a punching bag) so I was able to reuse those screws and block. Screws are four 4” lag bolts bolted to a 2x4. Definitely overkill, since the unit only weighs maybe 15 pounds. If you’re having a hard time figuring out what screws to use, take the black bracket and go to a home repair store and find some lag bolts that fit snugly in the holes. Retractibleness is good. As others have pointed out, you kind of have to find the sweet spot for it to catch/stay, but it’s not hard to find at any length. Recoil is strong once you start allowing it to wind back up. I’ll update the review if anything fails or goes wrong over the next few years.

Excellent addition to the well-equipped garage. I read quite a few reviews as most astute purchasers do and my opinion is consistently reinforced... you cannot please everyone. So hopefully my words will be helpful to the discerning purchaser. This product does not come with hardware, and why should it? Flexzilla cannot account for your intended installation preferences. I am particular about my hardware... I am glad I did not receive yet another bag of useless bolts... no installation template either... if you cannot measure the two center points and drill appropriate holes, hire someone. And no one should remove the mounting bracket to install this product - the bracket's mounting holes are keyholes... install your mounting hardware, slip the bracket over the bolts and then shift the unit in the keyholes and tighten them with a wrench (you can even use hex head with the proper driver in the gap between the bracket and the unit). The ratcheting mechanism is really nice (good noise and positive clicks). I am expecting many years of usefulness. However, it is not a constant ratchet... it only ratchets every twelve inches or so of chord extension. I expect most folks will find the whip more than long enough, but in my case I had to add a receptacle in my garage ceiling so I could place it between my cars because I have a 3 car garage and the receptacles are right in front of the garage door openers. This add-on allows me to run my wife's battery tender and power my worktable between the cars without any cables running across my floor. Wish I had bought it a long time ago.

Love the design. Easy to install, mounting bracket can be removed from the housing, installed on garage ceiling, the reattached to the housing. Cord seems to be of good construction. Would rather give this item 4.5 stars because I often have difficulty getting the cord to stay put after I have pulled it out to my desired length. Seems like it could be user error, but I feel like there are certain intervals you have to be at to get it to engage the brake. But for the money I really like this product. I paid ~$95 April 2021.

Ordered this for my garage. I have a Dewenwils 50’ in the detached Garage which seems fine although it has retracted a few times when it shouldn’t have. We just got the Flexzilla and haven’t used it much but it seems a lot smoother and ‘smarter’ about when to retract and when not to. I would say more user friendly then the other brand. Where it may fall short is the mounting bracket. The Dewenwils has the mounting bracket separate from the reel. After mounting the bracket you just slide the reel onto it. Good system. Also the design allows for more mounting options. The Flexzillz uses an attached bracket which makes mounting a little more difficult but doable. The Flexzilla is more expensive by about $25.00. All things considered, I would buy the Flexzilla again despite the higher price and the mounting bracket.

You get what you pay for. I’ve used others but they always have trouble reeling in the last 6’ of cord. Not this one- it’s robust and works flawlessly. I wish I bought this 20 years ago.

I mean it does what it's supposed to and is easy to install. What more could you ask for!?!

Works great and keeps cord nice and organized when not in use.

Handy tool for the garage. So far it has lasted, everything still works. Very pleased.
