Just bought this product and took my first dose yesterday. Thought about sending the product back because of the OLD, DISTASTEFUL smell. Checked where product was made and decided to keep it since it was manufactured in the Western USA. I'm wondering if anyone else was turned off by the smell? Simply don't know if it's the product itself and it's old, or that it's just the way it smells. 2-11-2025 - Taking this product as suggested. Having my annual blood work done this week. Will see if the LDL has gone in the right direction. I have high hopes! Will post the negative or positive soon.

I have been taking this for at least 3 months now and finally had a blood test to see if it's having any effects. my cholesterol over the years was pretty high over all due to heredity. I currently take a low dose of crestor that I've been on for about 3 years now, it dropped my 'bad' cholesterol dramatically and on the last 2 tests my cholesterol levels have stayed pretty flat. I got this and started taking one caplet in the morning w/some light food and then one in the evening usually with or after dinner. There's been some days here and there I forgot. I have not modified my diet and if anything it's probably worse than normal. This seems to have the following effects: my overall number is about the same however triglycerides are down 12 points, LDL is up 5, HDL is down 5, and CHOL/HDLC ratio is essentially the same. Seems like overall is this positive so I'm going to stay on for a while longer and see what happens. I have noticed that if I take it without food I do get a belly-ache after a while so I'll usually have a boiled egg at minimum. will update again at a later date. I hope this helps someone make a decision to try it or not.

Like other reviewers, my doctor suggested a statin--my cholesterol was 259, LDL and triglycerides are also above normal. I tried this product faithfully for over six months, however, I only took 1 capsule daily instead of 2 since it's a bit pricey. I did not change my diet, I am active, athletic, good weight, eat 3 meals a day. After repeating my labs, I was so disappointed--my cholesterol was exactly the same. If I had seen some improvement, I might have been encouraged to try 2 capsules daily, but at this point, I'm not convinced that it works.
