As it is cast iron, can this be used as on the grill for smash burgers?

Like over gas burners or bbq grill? I would think so. Cast iron is awesome like that

Can this be used on a cooking range/direct heat?

Yes it can. I like to start a dish on the stove top then put in the oven to finish. You can also use on a grill.

It’s roughly about 5/16 of an inch thick. It’s very durable and we love it. We have the former style Lodge pizza stone as well, we love both. They both provide us with performance that we have come to expect from all of our Lodge products!

Will this work for crepes?

No, this will not work for crepes. Technically, you can make a crepe on it, but... a crepe requires a lighter pan, preferably teflon, and ability to flick it to toss crepe and reverse. Too heavy for that, handles all wrong, and no lip. Crepe requires a rolling motion to coat the pan, and a lip to keep batter from spilling - cannot do that here. Wrong shape of pan.
