The construction is sturdy and it will take some serious abuse. Frets are not too sharp and not buzzy even with low action and all the way up the fretboard. The woodwork was done well enough to not make me bleed when running crazy licks. It will hold its tune very well and does not warp at all even when using unusual or non-standard tunings. I've tuned it all the way up to F#BEAC#F# with no damage.You get five pickup/tone configurations, a whammy bar (that I can't seem to get to work right), a tone and volume knob. Knobs and levers work as expected.As typical for budget guitars, the tone delivery isn’t great out of the box. It's punchy and mid-rangey kind of like an archtop guitar but also tinny and faint sometimes. You know that sound glass makes right before it shatters? It sounds kind of like that unless you EQ it right. Fortunately, this guitar is modifiable. It can probably be customized with spare strat/squire parts, but I would have rather paid a slightly higher price and gotten more value. Nevertheless, I still use this for home recordings. There’s not much a little mixing magic can’t work out.All in all, it's a great beginner or practice guitar.
