Why pay almost twice as much for this over the original product. Is the heavier lube really worth it? It seems the heavier lube would gunk up faster.

Yeah, there's a bit of truth in that. It does gunk up a bit more/faster. However, it also stays in place better. It depends on what your application(s) are for it, but the hotter or more friction-y the area, the more good the thicker stuff will do for you. The EWL30 is too gunky for an AR bolt carrier group. But I like a couple of small drops of it on Glock slide rails. When I first got it I was using it for everything, but I gradually scaled it back. Nowadays I mostly use it on other things, such as knives, door hinges, various home projects, etc. I've moved back to lighter lubricating products on my guns. Except that, as noted, I do like the EWL on pistol slides. I also use it on my M1 Garand, where it's actually very useful. So overall, I don't think there's a 100 % clear answer to your question, but you could probably do without it if you have other, lighter duty lubricants that work for you. I use Fireclean for about 90 % of my gun cleaning needs now. Anyway, hope that helps, good luck with whichever product(s) you settle on.

I’ve heard grey and cloudy I’ve never experienced that. It’s always been a light brown color. I’ve been running this on all my handguns for years. It’s good shit. The smell has changed somewhat maybe 2 years ago I noticed. Still non petroleum and great oil. People compare this to Lucas and mpro7 and milspec but you can’t. I’d run it with everything I have if it wasn’t 25$ for 4oz’s. So I stick to my side tools rather than long tools. Good stuff just too damn expensive. (I buy it anyway)

Yes you can. It works fantastic. I've used it on my fishing knives and they work like new again.

Which is better, this ewl30 or the ewg grease?

I personally prefer ewl30, since it's Ina liquid state. I also have ewg grease, which I use on shotguns, which have lesser tolerance between moving parts. Love ewl30, doesn't dry out, keep metal lubed and didn't turn into a sticky coating under heavy firing...My two cents...

The Best never Rest!!

Me and my Brother started using Slip 2000 EWL on Benelli Super Black Eagle 2 comfort tech Scatter guns Geese and Pheasant hunting. From there it went to the rest. There are some other good oils out there but I always go back to the best. I use this on home storm door hinges because it resists water and just stays put so long. I can’t say enough about this oil. Just try it and you’ll be speechless also.

Slick stuff!!

This stuff works great. Not a single issue with any of my pistols or my rifles when using this product. It also lasts much longer than standard CLP.

My go to lubricant for all the noisy equipment

I love this stuff. Keeps the equipment running smoothly and stays where it's put even in the heat. It doesn't have any odd smells like some of those other brands. A little goes a long way so use a little less if you're used to regular CLP.

Great Product, Packaging Issue

I’m giving it 4 stars because I really like the product itself. I’ve used it on all my weapons for years and it does a great job. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because the bottle arrived damaged and opened, and it appeared to have been used. That’s unacceptable for a new product.

Wish I would of known about this stuff sooner.

I love this stuff! Has great slickness but it’s thicker so it stays and doesn’t run oil everywhere. Been running this in my 2011 for awhile. Put a thin coating on your barrel and slide then everything will clean up easier after pew pew use.
