ThinkGeek Legend of Zelda Classic Nintendo NES Sword with Sound! Review: Our son (5) loves this. The sound effects are fun but with as much as her plays with it, the batteries don't seem to last long so I recommend rechargeable batteries with the purchase. Review: Nice reproduction of links 8 bit sword . Sound effects are dead on

Doesn’t work. Have changed batteries and everything. Out of 100 swings has made a single noise once. Very dissatisfied little boy on my hands now.

The sword looks cool and feels nice to hold, but mine didn't make any sound even when I changed the batteries. I think it's something wrong with the mechanism that detects how you swing it. This might be why it was so cheap. I also advise that you don't hit this sword against anything, as it doesn't feel strong enough to withstand it.
