This tub makes a huge difference!
I'm with most of the other reviewers singing kudos in regards to thisI handy brush washer/rinser/holder. I love it! As an artist who paints using watercolors and acrylics (mostly acrylics, at present), and who paints 3 to 4 days weekly on average although I have only had this product for a few weeks I am confident about giving it 2 thumbs up. Here's why. Hubby and I live in a temporary apartment until later this spring when we plan on moving into a house, where I will (once again) have a separate room to use as an art studio. At present, I have to clear off the kitchen table, lay old toweling over it, and arrange my art supplies - paint - then pick everything back up to pack away until my next painting session. In my mid 60s with some limited physical mobility and time I can stand and move about without discomfort, I wanted/needed a better solution to standing at the kitchen sink cleaning my brushes after I paint - a chore I am meticulous about because my brushes are an investment, so I take wash them carefully and condition the bristles after each use. This handy tub has 2 separate water reservoirs. I put brush cleaner detergent in the side with the revised horizontal bars on the bottom (for swishing the brushes over to remove paint from in between the bristles), and plain water in the other for "rising". I still use a small jar filled with water for mixing with the paints, but being able to "clean brushes as I paint" without having to get up and go over to the sink to clean them has proved very convenient. I honestly don't know why I waited for so long to get something that has proved so useful - and very affordable. This is not a large brush cleaner/holder tub, but it is certainly sufficient. Anything larger, really, would take up too much space on the working space, anyway. While it is true that the reservoirs don't hold a lot of water and that you cannot fill them up to the top of the tub (the dividing lip does not come to the top of the tub), I can paint 3 or more hours in one sitting using multiple light and dark colors without having to change the water. The top that covers the reservoirs does not "snap" on, but it does rest on top securely. My kitty likes to watch while I paint. When I have to leave the table while painting, the cover keeps her from sampling the water - which she tends to try to do. So I like that feature. Inverted, the lid does double as a palette. I have read some complaints that the blue color made using the lid as a palette difficult when mixing blues, etc. I solved this problem by using palette paper. To save money, I buy the larger size tablet and cut sheets into smaller squares for use. A small piece of frog tape doubled over itself on the bottom of the palette paper holds it securely in place in the inverted lid. Not only is this more efficient when using the lid, but clean up is a breeze; I just remove the paper when finished ... the lid remains clean. The tub itself is very easy and quick to clean. I highly recommend this brush cleaner/rinser/holder tub - to hobbyists and professionals alike.

A Must-Have for Little and Big Artists
Such a Great Idea! I bought this for my 3-year-old granddaughter and ended up getting a second one for my teen artist daughter. It’s perfect! It keeps all the mess in one spot and makes cleaning paintbrushes super easy. We love it!

Large chunk of plastic, probably useful for kids cleaning brushes. Price fluctuates a lot.
I paint watercolors. I usually use recycled clear plastic food containers so I can see the color of the water and when to change. The US Art Supply brush washer is a decent size. While I did not use the unit, the ridges on the bottom of the interior looked like they would be useful to clean the brushes. The brush holders are not that convenient because you cannot rinse brushes while using the holders - the brush holder holes should have been put at the ends of the container. The palette wells have a small circle ridge in each one. When mixing paint the brush would catch and splash back so it would not, for me, be useable. The lid is nice. It does not seal and is not leak proof. I was a little on the fence about it as it seems like a big chunk of plastic and I do try and use recycled or glass /ceramic materials. But I thought I would see if I used it. I bought it at 'the lowest price in 30 days' of $11.99. For the past week it has been $9.99 which was just irritating me. So I called Amazon and asked for the price difference. I was told they don't price match and the best thing to do was return it and order another one. I complained and said that was inane, all that extra work, shipping pollution etc. So I said no worries, I would just return it. At which point Amazon said to hold on and then put me on hold for 15 minutes while they tried to work it out. At which point I hung up the phone. I should have gone with my first instinct to just return it. I then got 3 calls from Amazon saying if I still wanted to get the price difference to call them back. Are they mad? 15 minutes on the phone and they can't sort out a small refund and then they want me to call again.

Compact and Handy
This was better than expected! A nice sized container to clean brushes, select and mix your paint choices. Having a place to put your “in use” brushes without needing to lay them down on a counter or easel in between color changes and brush strokes. Made of a durable thick plastic that’s easy to clean. This is suitable for artists of all skill levels. Kids to adults. I believe this product is primarily suited for use with Acrylic & Water Color paints and inks. I feel if you paint using Oils, you are better with a hand held artists “Pallet” and a brush cleaning bucket with a screen and solvent. This all in one container is perfect for my Acrylic paint projects on canvas and ceramics. I highly recommend giving this product a try. There are a few variations of this being sold, I only chose this blue one over the gray because of price. I love this container. No more bowels of water, mounds of paper towels, rags, and mess!
