It's a great wet palette! The foam is dense and holds water great. The rubber seal keeps your wet palette wet if you want to take it with you to a painting session with friends or a painting night at your FLGS. There are larger wet palettes available from Redgrass or other producers but this one is great for my desk size and painting needs! Enough space for a mixing area and to have your paints on the same wet palette. Amazing product for the price you pay. Especially if you can find it on sale.

Can something as simple as a nice, ready to go wet palette make your painting experience better? Yes. Absolutely. It's such a small thing. Essentially a plastic box with a sponge and a sheet of porous paper. Nothing to it. You've doubtless seen a million tutorials on how to make your own with paper towel and some old Tupperware. Will that work? Absolutely. Is it user friendly, convenient, does it make your life easier? Probably not. This does all of those things. Soak the sponge, lay down a sheet of palette paper and you're off to the races. A lot of folks will say the paper is just parchment. It's not, not exactly. The quality of parchment varies wildly and it can be a huge pain to cut and place without edges rolling up and smoothing out bubbles. You simply lay this paper on the sponge and wait. It will curl and then flatten out. Barely smooth out any bubbles and you're good. It's sized perfectly, lays flat, doesn't let too much water through but also doesn't dry out. The actual 'box' of the palette seals but is not exactly air tight. THIS IS A GOOD THING. It doesn't completely lock the moisture in causing your paints to separate in an hour or so and be rendered useless. It is also quite shallow and doesn't hold a lot of standing water. Again, I think this is a good thing as it cuts down on using TOO MUCH and also eliminates the issues with stagnant nasty water in your palette. When it's time to clean up, toss the palette paper, wring out the sponge if you need to, wipe clean and you're good to go. Look, if you're reading this you likely know what you're looking for. While $30 may seem a little steep for what amounts to a little plastic box, keep it mind that it was intelligently designed, purpose built for what it is you're doing, and it just WORKS. It's made my painting experience easier, less stressful, and more fun. For me? That's well worth it.

Simply the best value in wet palette purchases you can make. The right size with quality internal sponge and paper that keeps your paints in workable shape for an extended period of time. The seal provided on the cover is excellent and ensures the paint will remain hydrated when covered, for me overnight has been no problem. If you are looking for a wet palette, this is a good place to start.

Included paper is quite bad, doesn't absorb nearly enough. But the sponges and palette are great!

this color palet is a total game changer for mini panting. its one of those things that you think "i could make something just as good" but once you use it you realize that this is better than your diy palet in every way. the sponge is perfect, the paper is great, it works exactly how you wan it too and makes painting a pleasure. worth every penny.

Una palmera humedad es algo que si bien no es imprescindible para pintar si es algo que que se vuelve impresionante cuando se adquiere cierto nivel de pinturas de miniaturas o si simplemente se quiere mejorar en la tecnica. Una de esas cosas que marcan la diferencia. Una vez que se decide usar solera humeda lo normal es fabricársela uno mismo con una caja de plástico, una bayeta y papel de horno. Y esto funciona bastante bien. Así que cuando uno ve el coste de estas paletas profesionales le parece una locura. Pero la verdad es que sin ser algo imprescindible, teniendo la casera, la diferencia es abismal. Por varias razones: La estanqueidad de la caja es perfecta, algo muy difícil en una que se tenga por casa. El material de la “esponja” hace que absorba agua de forma impresionante (de verdad parece mentira lo que puede chupar). Y el papel sobre el que va la pintura es muy superior al papel de horno, deja pasar la cantidad justa de humedad. Y todo esto se traduce en que puedes dejar una gota de pintura y que diez días después esté prácticamente igual de fresca. Y todas las ventajas de una paleta húmeda casera multiplicadas por diez. Mérece la pena el desembolso? Pues eso ya depende de cada uno. Si se buscan los mejores materiales de pintura sin duda. Si que quiere mejorar las técnicas, también. Puedo ahorrármelo y seguir con mi paleta de toda la vida? Absolutamente. Yo he pintado durante diez años con una fabricada con una caja de destornilladores.
