It rolls/folds up nicely out of the way when not used. The material seems strong and durable, and wipes clean/dry easily. While I was a little leery of the mat based on others' comments about a strong smell, I have not noticed any unusual or strong smell from the mat. Yes, when I'm face down in it I can smell the foam, but it's not very strong smelling. And, more than a few inches from it, it has no discernible odor.
