After spine surgery I discovered using the restroom was way too difficult. I found this product doing a search and loved the reviews. It came next day and was so much help during my healing. Long enough that people like me with short arms can comfortably reach. It's high quality and didn't bend like a low quality product would. If you need assistance, I would absolutely stand behind this product and recommend it highly.

Thank God!!! It works amazingly well. The stainless steel is great because it won’t break and is easily disinfected. I love it. Made a very bad mistake ordering a plastic gripper one and those are very flimsy

Takes a little practice to be proficient with this tool. Wrapping and applying the tool is fine, but getting the paper off after use is what i am working on getting better at. Not sure if it is just me or what. I have also used the tongs to pull up my pants and they work well for that.

We tried the wand (totally nuts and impractical if you can only use one arm/hand). This one is FAIL PROOF!! It gets the job done, easy to use, length and grip is perfect. It is worth every penny and then some! If you are going into surgery and need something like this to assist you afterwards… go with this one OR install a bidet. Don’t waste your money on all of the other ones. This metal doesn’t bend - it’s solid. I was looking for something that was simple and easy to use. This does it.

This was not something I found useful for the toilet. However I did find it great for the shower. A bit of TP on cold metal doesn’t provide a great cleaning of your undercarriage if you aren’t skilled in holding tp in a precarious grip. I couldn’t manage to hold tp with these tongs without dropping the TP while trying to move to reach around my new hip replacement. I gave up trying to use these on the toilet and for a while thought it was a waste of money. With limited mobility, these tongs were hung on my shower chair. It was there that they were found to be useful. You see, I can’t touch my toes with the surgery so I have a grip aid for my every day use. But that grabbing reacher is not made for water exposure. But these tongs ARE!!!! When I dropped the soap in the bath, I couldn’t reach but the tongs were there to get it. I also couldn’t turn off the water from my seated position. But the loops of these tongs were pretty good at slipping over that handle and giving me the reach to turn. Can’t grab the towel? This became my shower reaching tool. I can stay seated on the shower chair and dry off because I can use this tool to grab my towel. Of the items I was told that I needed to buy for my “hip kit” this item is one I use daily for my shower. It gave me the ability to take a shower without assistance.

This item does not work well. The toilet release mechanism does not work. The foldable function does not work properly. I would not recommend this product.

bought this one and another 'fancy' one with cover and push button release. this one is by far the most efficient, easy to clean and easy on hands with some sort of disability as its a scissor motion rather than a clumsy hard to press button slide. was worried the angle would not be enough to be ergonomic but it suffices. i have had 4 spinal fusions, getting anther two very soon. I also have wrist disability on my dominant hand. it already was hard to reach my nethers. this aid works perfectly whether reaching from the front through a raised toilet seat with handles or by standing and reaching from the back. wadding is not an issue. it holds. what i didnt need to do was wrap it around the tongs. just clenching it from the scissors was enough. this should make my recovery much better as i wont have to twist or bend. recommended this to my friends who have mobility issues as well

I wasn't sure if I would like them at first but, they are my favorite assistive device currently. Once you figure out how to lay your paper on them you can control the hardness or softness of the wipe. It has really helped to add ointment to the paper to reach sensitive areas. Wonderful addition. I also enjoy that it doesn't matter how hard I squeeze them, the keep the paper feeling secured.
