But I noticed that because of the water quality where I live the color in light things, and even in clear glass was distorting. So I went with this darker set. I am so glad I did. They are beautiful. The color is so rich and true. The backside of them is a matte black while the serving side is the prettiest blue with brown flecks. They have a very nice, even weight. They feel sturdy while not being too heavy. And are very well made. I don't use a microwave but I am sure they would be fine in one. They retain the heat from the food that I use them for but don't get too hot to sit on my lap. The bowls are small across, but very deep, which makes them ideal for the perfect amount of whatever you wish to put in them. The texture is smooth and feels very nice, which makes them easier to clean. I did drop one the other day while hand washing them, and it did not break or chip. I think they are definitely worth the purchase. They are a beautiful set I expect to have for a very long time.

A: The outside color on this set is black

**Q: What's the size of the dinner plate?**
A: I gave this set as a gift so I cannot measure it myself, but the description says: "12.75-inch dinner plate, 9-inch dessert plate, 6.25-inch bowl and 12 ounce mug (plates and bowls measured diagonally)."  Hope this helps!

**Q: Red and grey or red ands black?**
A: It is red and black. I saw a square set, as opposed to this round set, that I almost bought that was gray and red. I think it was called Gibson elite or something if you are looking for a red and gray. Hope this helps.

**Q: Is it true you do not have a warranty?**
A: Well I brought it through Amazon and if I had a problem they normally will fix it. I had them for over a year and they work just fine.
