Good book
Pretty good book. Lots of handy info in one source. I bought it because I wanted to fab an aluminum intake for my nailhead as it mentioned intake in the description online. The intake in the book is steel.... Some of the technique could be used for an aluminum version, but I'm back on my own with most of it. I do like the book though. It'll be useful for lots of other metal work as a reference. Get it...you won't be disappointed

Learn from a master craftsman
This book is highly recommended for anyone starting out and wishing to learn about sheet metal work. The first several chapters are a bit dull, relating to highly specialized equipment that is no longer available or very expensive. The rest of the book is filled with tips and tricks that you could never learn by watching youtube videos or on forums. The author is a master at his craft. Chapter 7 (Hammerforming) is worth the price of the whole book. You won't find information like this at any free on-line site. Buy the book!

Exactly what I was looking for
I was looking for a manual that could help me on learning the neccessary skills to be an amateur craftman. This book is an easy to read, complete manual for introducing you in the techniques of sheet metal work. Completely reccomended either if you want to create new panels or restore old ones.

Great teaching book
This is a great book to learn basic sheet metal work. With the lack of shop classes in schools I have used this to show people how to do sheet metal work with out having to buy an entire shop.

another winner
Thank you mr fournier for writing this book, I got it and soon started improving my skills. There is no magic formula for sheet metal work so pay attention and read carefully while looking at the photos and form an opinion after you TRY the skills shown in the book.

This book is easy to read and understand. It could go into more depth on each task, but then it would be a much bigger and more expensive book. I found it most interesting, and it has whetted my appetite to discover more about sheet metal forming, but as the author candidly states, there is no substitute for practice. This is a most useful book on a subject where there is very little advice or written information, and still less choice. I recommend it!

Older style book with not much info and only dark poor quality B/W photos

Basically I did not like this book because it did not deliver what it claimed to. There was very little real content that would teach the reader how to work with sheet metal. There was an excess of material for example on big workshop metal working machinery. I think that anyone with access to such equipment would not need a book like this. On the other hand for the home hobbyist and small shop user there was little of help to actually do much fabrication.. The book jumped from simplistic descriptions of tools to illustrations of finished projects without giving detailed descriptions of the techniques to get there. I was disappointed. I am very experienced in metal machining and welding and have a well equipped workshop, but in the past I have only done simple sheet metal work such as box shaped items. I was hoping that this book would help me with more complex projects. It did not.
