Turner Acrylic Paint Set Japanesque Artist Acryl Gouache - Based on Traditional Japanese Colors From Nature, Coarse, Rough, Gritty Texture - [Set of 45 | 20 ml Tubes]

This acryl gouache set of 45 includes a mix of deep blacks, as well as grayed mid-tone colors and pale tints. Add in some brilliant strong colors and you get a really unique "japanesque" palette. The quality the gouache is really lovely. The richly pigmented paint dries quickly to a suede finish with a bit of grit or texture to it. Acrylic gouache is not as permanent as regular acrylic paint, but it does not have that plastic feel, either. If you scrub an area of dried paint, you will pick up a bit of color, but it is very faint—so feel free to paint in layers without reactivating the layer below. The paint sets permanently with a bit of spray fixative. Just got the set, so I am still getting used to mixing colors.

I got these for a steal compared to other places (about half price) which made me worried they would be old & dried out. I tested each one the day they got here & they're all perfect. I haven't made any art with them yet, but I'm look forward to playing around with them this weekend. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

The 'Japanese' Collection is supposed to have a grittier texture, with a less- ground up pigment. If there is separation of binder, with cap still on, gently squeeze tube at top and bottom to mix. No paints in my set were dry, and they were beautiful vibrant colors. Lots of reviews saying that the pigments are 1/2 dry in the tube, it's not the case. If you are looking for a more viscous version with smoother qualities, try the 'standard' set and opt out of these 'Japanese' colors.

I was really impressed with this set. A great range of colours with impressive vibrancy. Application layers are only 1-2 so painting becomes much quicker an easier to apply. It also blends well with water for a more transparent look. Tubes are quite small which I was concerned about, but you only need a very small amount of paint so this is not an issue. Once paint dries it becomes impervious to water - great for layering paint but not so good for clean up. So be mindful to keep brushes clean as you use them, rather than a big clean up at the end. Overall, very happy with product and would buy again.

So far I've loved all the colors I've used. They're nice and rich and flow directly from the tube. They even adhere to many surfaces where most other gouache or acrylic paints would just bead up.

This is the best set you will ever get for professional gouache. Not only the gouache itself is very high quality and pigmented (extremely thin grind, paint is like very smooth cream -- smoother than its competitor, Acryla Gouache), but most importantly, the specific set has the right colors for pro work. You see, if you're doing either pro paintings or illustrations, you probably need "neutral"/shade colors. All the other sets from either Turner or any other gouache company put together only primary, or very strong colors, which make the paintings look like marker drawings rather than paintings. Granted, you can make your own neutral colors by mixing your strong primary colors, but each time you do that, you end up with a different hue, so you might end up with splotches of similar-but-not-quite colors. This set instead, is using the traditional Japanese colors, so you won't have to mix colors too often. Overall, I'm very satisfied. Tip: use the PW6 J-White that comes with it to always mix with the various colors, so the paint lays even smoother, without changing the hue significantly. EDIT, February 2020: I'm editing down my 5 star, to 3 stars. The paints are going bad in just 4 years time since I purchase them. This is not enough time for a paint to go bad (other artists have other gouache brands for 10 to 20 years without issues!). The acrylic binder has SEPARATED from the paint! When I squeeze out the paint, the binder comes out in droves!

Am liebsten wollte ich Acryla Gouache ausprobieren aber in Deutschland sind diese wirklich schwierig zu kriegen. Also wollte ich zumindest die Holbein Marke testen. Bis jetzt habe ich nur die Flashe Vinyl ausgetestet und ich rechnete mit Ähnlichkeiten: gut zu malen und verarbeiten, matte Oberfläche wenn getrocknet. Wasserfest. Was ich nicht beachtet hatte: dieser Kasten ist eine Auswahl "Japanesque" - typische Farben für japanische Malerei. Metallic hätte ich mir sonst wahrscheinlich nicht ausgesucht. Also dann ausprobiert und erstmal enttäuscht, weil die Farben grobkörnig sind und wie leichtes Sandpapier auftrocknen (Vergleich Flashe). Insgesamt ist die Farbauswahl gut, sie lassen sich super vermalen. Sie sind so gut wie nicht mehr wasserlöslich, aber eine neue Farbe auf eine getrocknete zu drücken und damit zu malen ist schlecht, die alte löst sich dann bröselig in die neue. Sehr deckend, aber auch verdünnt zu benutzen. Ich freue mich sie zu haben und kann sie weiterempfehlen, das Grobkörnige ist für manche Effekte genau das Richtige und auch auf Schwarz lässt sich damit gut malen.

物はいいと思います。ただ、ザラザラの質感を出すために、粒子が配合されているので、細かく描きこむのは難しく自分の描き方には合わなかったです。少ない色数で試してから買えば良かった。

質感と色味がおもしろい！ ざらっとマットになります。 個人的に普通のガッシュより好きです。

がびーん！ 世の中の値上がり祭の前に買ってるのに、当時に買った時よりお安くなっとる… まぁいいけどw 手芸のちりめん小物で使いたくて購入しましたが、購入してしばらく経ってるというのに実はまだ使えてません。が、昔ネイルで使ってた事もあるし、ジャパネスクカラー素敵すぎて★5個。
