Mobilegs are far superior to standard-design crutches and DEFINITELY worth the extra expenditure
I am a busy, active person and am unable to take the time to write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience with these crutches. After breaking my left foot in multiple areas, with my doctor's stern orders for no weight-bearing, I was overwhelmed with how I would get around for the next 12 weeks for work, general activities, caring for my elderly dog, etc. I had been using standard crutches for three days and my underarms were so sore, I was absolutely miserable. Mobilegs were suggested to me by my personal trainer but when I researched them, my first thought was that I could not spend that much for crutches, when standard crutches are 1/3 the price (I have a very high deductible, so they were not covered.) That said, nine weeks later, I will attest that Mobilegs are far superior to standard-design crutches and DEFINITELY worth the extra expenditure, especially if using crutches for more than a few days. The underarm area is large, pliable and adjusts on springs, so the typical pain in the underarm area is negated, even after repeated use. The hand grips are very comfortable and much easier to hold on to, the angle & design completely avoids rubbing in the padded bottom area of the hand and wrist (where I have arthritis that often flares up.) I have had no pain at all. The bottom leg grips are wider and shaped differently than the other style crutches and are very stable. They are easy to transport myself when getting in and out of the car. Wherever I go, these crutches have been a conversation starter - the design is so sleek. After ordering, I received them the following day. I use them for work everyday, going on client appointments, through busy airports, on a recent beach vacation (on the sand) and even to the theater last week, walking 5 blocks from the parking lot. I have been using them daily for 9 weeks with at least 3 weeks left to go; I cannot express how very thankful I am to my trainer who suggested them to me. When I went recently back to the doctor's office for X-rays I asked if they had ever seen Mobilegs crutches. I was surprised at the answer - they said that they have them, but most people will not spend the extra money for them so they don't usually suggest them. If you have pause at the though of the extra cost above regular crutches, I urge you to give them a try - they are worth every penny!

Excellent Product Could Use Some Minor Enhancements
These crutches are awesome. Having used the traditional crutches in the past, I was excited when I found these before a surgery I was to have. I have had the pleasure of having the office chairs that the designer of these crutches is credited with co-designing for 15 years now and thought that if these were half as comfortable as the chairs it would be a huge improvement over traditional crutches. They are a huge improvement over traditional crutches. The most noticeable benefit is that 24 days post surgery now I haven't had a single bit of chaffing in my arm pits. And while my wrists still hurt a bit from all the extra weight being supported by my wrists, the ergonomic hand grips and positioning minimize the pain and relieve pressure on the nerves preventing common pain up into the arm. The mesh upper is soft and is designed not to move too much in your arm pit, thus reducing the chaffing. The upper also turns from side to side a bit which allows for a more natural walking motion on the crutches, again preventing the chaffing. The upper is mounted into the aluminum crutch on a spring providing some shock absorption. The hand holds are an ergonomic foam that is very comfortable and the rubber on the bottom of the crutch is rounded like the legs of a rocking chair providing for a "smooth" forward movement. The only negative that I've noticed is that the clickity-clack that adjustable crutches have where the adjustable pegs hit the sides when you put weight on the crutch seems to be louder on these crutches. Would be nice if there was a way to dampen the noise. One other point to note, if you are used to regular crutches and sometimes rely on the solidity of the upper to carry things short distances without using your hands on the crutch, you can't do that with these since they are spring mounted. To summarize, highly recommended.

MobiLegs Ultras are a revolution. Period.
I have a Morton's Neuroma in each foot, so while they're being treated I have to use crutches. Here's the review I just put on the MobiLegs website. MobiLegs Ultras are a revolution. Period. I'm new to having to use crutches. I tried the traditional type, I tried the "Life Crutches", I bought pads, I wrapped towels - Nothing felt comfortable. I chafed and bruised my underarms. Then I ordered MobiLegs Ultra. It's like they were custom made just for me! They are well built and even though they're lightweight, they really feel SOLID. I'm 6'1" and 240 lbs. These make me feel very secure. They are a set, not a pair - one is designed for your right side, the other for your left. The armpit piece is a saddle and it's SPRING LOADED! I can't tell you how comfortable they are. No extra padding needed. They curve to make the "tripod" stance feel natural. The hand grips are molded, non-slip, hi-density rubber. I actually look forward to using them - with the other types, I dreaded the thought of having to go anywhere - The MobiLegs Ultras have given me mobility again! No, they're not cheap, but they're not cheaply made. They're worth every penny. PJ

So much better than traditional crutches. These are what you need.
I blew out my left knee and I am in need of crutches until I can get it repaired. I was using traditional crutches which are very painful on the under arms. I just received these and they work SO much better. Very lightweight. Extremely adjustable. These are far better engineered both in quality and mechanical design. They make for much more efficient and safer walking with little to no armpit pain. They do require more strength in your lower arms as now all of you weight will be on your hands and wrists but they are much more comfortable to use. This makes it more easier to get around because unlike the traditional ones, you are not fearful of the pain they will cause on your underarms as there is none.
