It will output up to 24/192 from its analog output but only 16/44 from its digital. Digital output down sampling is very common on many streamers as it is compatible with most DACs in amplifiers but most importantly in multi unit setups. Say you have five Songbirds in the house and all five of them then the 16/44 standard helps keep your network from being saturated with the bandwidth killing high rate sampling. If you only have one in your home, use its analog out and you would be very happy with the sound quality.
