Watch Technicians Genuine Leather Skagen band/strap With Screws Fits Selected Models Listed Below

I'm impressed. It's not always easy to select a watch band based on product descriptions and photos. You need to feel the leather, test the pliability, and make sure the fit is exact -- especially with bands that attach with screws. This band is exactly what I hoped it would be. The leather looks great, is strong but not stiff, and it has a quality feel to it. It's an exact fit on the watch and the holes are aligned perfectly. The fact that it comes with new screws is a big plus, as the heads on a couple of the old ones stripped while removing them. The small drawstring bag that it came with is a really nice touch. Maybe it's just me, but it comes across as a higher commitment to quality. I've bought several replacement bands in the past, and this is the best I've seen. I actually prefer this over the original Skagen band. I'll be buying a Watch Technicians band for my other watch!

I got this strap for my Skagen watch Skagen Men's Black Watch #233XXLSLB whose original straps started splitting. These look like a reasonable replacement for the original straps and were easy to replace. These straps came with four screws which would come in handy in case you misplace or damage the screws while changing the strap, as the screws are really small. These straps are tang-type/pin buckle like the original ones. Though the buckle end of the strap containing the holes is pointed while the original one was straight. EASE OF REPLACING These straps were easy to replace. The watch had four screws (two on each end) that needed to be taken out. Watch Technicians' straps came with fine holes in them which are supposed to be aligned with the screw holes. This made the task of aligning the straps really easy. After pushing in the straps into the lugs and aligning in the holes on the watch and strap, I simply had to put in the screws. The screw went in easily and they were not sticking out. A small screwdriver was the only thing I needed to replace the strap. QUALITY AS COMPARED WITH ORIGINAL STRAPS My first impression of this strap was that the original straps felt softer (when they were new) than these ones. Watch Technicians' straps appear to be little stiff but may get tender after some time. These straps are labeled as "Genuine Leather" which though is technically leather but considered to be on the very low end of leather quality (as compared to Full grain or top grain leather.) But for this price, I wouldn't expect a fine leather product. Also, the original straps were also made from "Genuine Leather", but since there is no standard way of making a genuine leather I have a feeling that the original straps were of slightly better quality. Also, these straps seem to be two bonded pieces of leather just like the original straps. My original strap failed because the pieces of leather were not sewn together. So I would not be surprised if this band fails similarly as well.

Very good quality leather band, fits perfectly as advertised for my Skagen watch. The replacement was very simple and easy with the find tip screwdriver I had already for eye glass screws. Great product, price and delivery - 5 star rating in my opinion.

Nice quality replacement - seems to be exactly like the original. In my experience, wearing maybe 4 watches in equal amounts, the straps last about 2-3 years, and these replacements have the same lifespan as those that were on the watch from new. Nice soft leather, which doesn't wear out and the color holds nicely. Highly recommend!

The band is great and the install was easy, however, I didn't get the screws that were supposed to be included. I used the existing screws, but if I had dropped one it could have easily disappeared in the carpet and I would have been pissed.

The strap broken down after a few yours of use. This is the second one I buy that falls apart after a little use. I will start buying alternative ones from now on.

The customer service is great. I had some issue with the band and it was probably defective. However, the customer service rep contacted me and offered a replacement. I got the replacement today and it fits great. Doesn't look like there will be any issue. I like my watch and now with a new band it looks brand new and last me another 3 years.

Mine didn't fit quite so easily. One side slid in pretty well, but the other side took me about 10 minutes of tugging and wriggling to finally get it into place - and it still wasn't fully seated, so I just hoping it won't tear loose prematurely. Also, beware that the interior is tan - not black. That interior shows on the sides and end of the strap which isn't so great. It also seems like a different and material - not so tough as the outer leather. Previously, I had bought the strap at half the price and it worked well, but eventually delaminated after about 18 months. It had outer layers of the tough leather and this same softer material inside. Hopefully this one lasts longer. Update 2017-05-30: I received a replacement band from Watch Technicians in response to my review. This replacement installed without any issues - proper thickness for a snug fit, but able to insert and align the holes properly. So, if you get one that is too tight - request replacement. If this holds up well, I will raise my rating to 5 stars.
