I take these traveling because sometimes there may not be enough pillows. (I like extra). They travel flat, do not take much room in suitcase. If needed, it takes less than 5 minutes to blow up. The 5" x 1" x 6" is the size of the box it comes in. Directly under this in the product details is the shipping weight. Sorry for the confusion I hope this helps. **Q: what size is it?** A: Approximately 8.5" x 11". Inflated, those dimensions are smaller but rises about 4". The pillow is a good height and more comfy than I expected. You can adjust the softness by letting a little air out. It even comes with one repair patch. Nice little pillow for a good price.
