### ⭐⭐ waste of money

i been research on google for this product but some people said really good and some people said really bad so i decided give myself try and finally i got it. i can't believe how can this be good as bluray 3d movies? this is pretty much same as my built in 3d converter inside my 3d tv (which is terrible). hopefully some company will bring true 3d converter in year 2013.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Its okay

First, let me state something - another reviewer said they upgraded to this from the Platinum version because this has 12 presets. BS - it has six, Movie, Movie +, Sports, Sports +, Gaming, and Popout. This is confirmed by the User Manual that is available on 3d-Bee's website for the Diamond All of the presets SUCK, at least after what I have thrown at it in the 24 hours since I got this product. They all seem to create these weird wavey rolling images. Yeah, stuff has depth, but it is all wrong. The different settings also do not seem to make hardly any difference. I am actually kind of wondering if the device is broke. The device does have manual settings as well, and this is what I will be reviewing for the most part. The manual settings look MUCH better than the presets. Does it work? Yes - on roughly about 40% of the content I throw at it. Stuff like Dragonball Z actually created some popout of the screen, but the 3D seemed weird - like you had these big huge bodies and little bitty heads. The depth rendering was clearly off, but the FAQs on their website DOES state that 2D animation may not render properly. Apparently neither does anything with a noisy background. For example, if you have bookshelves in the background, an audience (ie sporting event), or like a dance competition where they are dancing in front of a graphic, these render strange. Like the dance competition, it tried to render the background graphic at different distances from the screen, than it like had no place to put the foreground objects - to the point that foreground objects sometimes seemed to appear BEHIND background objects. It was really strange. And sporting events sometimes make it appear that people are walking on other people's heads. Kinda strange. Bookshelves in a non-moving shot tend to cause that weird wavy effect I was talking about above. However, the device DOES work pretty well, particularly on Youtube videos shot in HD. Gymnastic events - particularly if you are looking at the floor or the beam from a slight angle, work really well (does not look good if you are looking straight on). If they are performing in a gym, this looks really good. Ends of balance beams stick out of the screens, and it looks like you can reach out and touch the girls. Dance competitions where the camera is off looking at the stage from a side angle in the audience (rather than being filmed straight on from the back of an auditorium) look fantastic (if there is not a noisy backdrop). Videos filmed outside look great. The best looking videos tend to come from videos that have a bit of "shake" in them. I guess this helps the device determine distance. I also tried this on an old B movie - Santa Claus Conquours the Martians. This actually looked pretty good, for the most part. There was certainly depth, although it seemed to be slightly off. What really surprised me, though, was that the opening menu, which had video playing inside of a static frame, ojects that were static appeared in 3D. In fact, they actually seemed to pop out past my center speaker that sits on the tv stand in front of my television. So does it work? Yeah, on some stuff. Does it work better than some of the built-in features on some sets? Eh, yeah, I guess. My set and player do not have 2D to 3D conversion built in, which is why I picked it up in the first place. I am going to test it some more. At least you can turn the 3D on and off, and manually adjust it. It seems a bit pricey for what it does. If the 3D was a bit more consistent, and didn't produce those weird "waves", I would give it a higher rating. On the stuff it works on, it works REALLY well, but as I said, that is really about only 40% of what I have thrown at it, everyything else just looks weird.
