The 6ft. version (I e., 12 ft. diameter) is not legal in some states (2019). I purchased the 6ft. version. I'm 6'1" well built, and I really struggled using this in the surf. It was easier off of jetties. My net had a flaw however. After the first few casts, the monofilament line that goes through the net got so tangled that the net doesn't open properly anymore. There seems to be a design issue that makes the net flimsy, rather than tight, they way it should be and definitely the way they used to be made. It could be that I just got a flawed product.
