It seemed like a way to shorten my process, and a way to paint consistently straight lines. I've tried a lot of different brands of paint pens/markers, and I can tell you that they aren't all created equal. Some don't perform well on the first run, and that is frustrating. Most perform well for the first few uses, but then they either get clogged, or become so inconsistent that they become unusable. One thing that I've learned is that these Sharpie paint pens are, so far, the best ones I've tried. The metallic paint looks great, and they apply consistent lines. They also last longer than any other paint pens/markers that I've tried. The last set that I purchased ran out of paint before failing, and that's not a problem I've had with any of the other paint pens/markers that I've tried. The paint dries quickly, but not so quickly that you can't fix an error. The paint inside mixes with a small amount of shaking, and they push & release tip makes them very easy to use. Long story short, you usually get what you pay for, and with these Sharpie paint pens, I think they've proven to be the best value for my money.
