Versatile, comfortable, and reliable. Perfect even for work and casual gaming.
I’ve been using the SHOKZ OpenRun headphones every workday for the past ten months, mainly for business calls, and I can confidently say they’ve exceeded expectations. What initially drew me in was the open-ear design, which has changed how I work and move through the day. No more ear irritation, no discomfort from having something stuck in my ear for hours. A lightweight, secure fit that I often forget I’m even wearing. Despite their simplicity, they never slip out of place. The sound quality is solid, especially when you consider the bone conduction technology. It’s not meant for rich bass or ultra-precise clarity, so if you’re an audiophile or music producer, this might not be for you. But for calls, podcasts, or background music, it does the job very well. There’s a bit of sound leakage at higher volumes, but honestly, the vibration becomes uncomfortable at that point anyway. It naturally keeps you within a comfortable listening range. The mic has been perfectly reliable. I tend to double-check how I sound on calls, and the feedback has always been positive. It pairs effortlessly with Microsoft Teams and connects to both my laptop and phone. I've never had an issue switching between devices, which is something I can’t say for most Bluetooth gear. I haven’t tested it extensively in heavy weather, but in day-to-day use, even in busy or noisy environments, I’ve never struggled to hear or be heard. Over weekends, I’ve used it on runs and even for the occasional gaming session. I’m no competitive gamer, but for casual play like Skyrim: Oblivion, it performed surprisingly well with no noticeable lag. One unexpected bonus is being able to game or watch something on my computer while still hearing my kids if they call from their rooms: a huge win if you're a parent trying to balance things. Battery life has never been an issue. I’ve never drained it in a day, and although I’m not sure how long it takes to fully charge, the USB-C connection is solid and hassle-free. The headphones still look and function like new after months of use, though I do store them carefully in their soft pouch inside my laptop bag. They’ve held their shape well, but I wouldn’t toss them around carelessly. All in all, this is a quality product with a smart, no-fuss design that works across multiple aspects of daily life. It might not look like much, but if you need comfort, situational awareness, and dependable performance, this one’s a keeper.

What a Difference!
I first tried the cheaper (£30-40) bone conduction phones, and was disappointed enough to send them back within an hour of receiving them. Poor fit, poor sound quality and altogether not worth the effort. My friend had told me about the Shokz models, but I was reluctant to spend that much money in the beginning. How glad I am that I did! These phones are excellent - perfect fit, so comfortable I forgot I was wearing them and they weren't even dislodged by quite violent head movements so great for those much younger and fitter than me who actually indulge in workouts, and excellent sound quality, albeit a little lacking in bass as one might expect. Even that can be fixed by wearing earplugs, but that kind of defeats the object I would say! I occasionally operate a telephone switchboard and I think these phones will be perfect for avoiding discomfort from continuous wearing for hours at a time - much better than the headset I used before. A little point my friend told me about - if worn correctly and you turn the volume up high they tickle your ears. Not at all unpleasant, just a bit weird! Conclusion - don't bother with the cheap ones. Go for the Shokz or just use ordinary headsets. Definitely worth the extra £100!

helpful for ear wax issues
great option, in ears were creating a lot of wax, these have solved the issue

Great for running and not being isolated from background noise
Great device - sound quality is good but a bit lacking in bass - which I expected. Great for running outdoors whilst maintaining situational awareness - also the same in the office. One niggle is they do not auto power off so you can accidently take them off and leave them in standby and they go flat after a few days. I would recommend them - see if you can get them on sale.

These are so Good! Wish I got them sooner.
I use earphones all the time. I listen to a lot of audiobooks for hours at a time while I'm working or doing chores. I do also use them for listening to music. For speech they are perfect. For music you should not expect the deep bass you would get from in-ear earphones but saying that the sound quality is still impressive. One of the reasons I love it the most is that if I wear my in ear or over ear ones my ear canal starts to play up (I wont go into the gory details of that) but with my Shokz and can listen for hours with no such issues. I now also use them when I run which is great as I never use to run with earphones due to not liking not being able to hear my surroundings but these change all that for me. I could not recommend these enough. Honestly, If you can afford these just get them. They are so worth it.

Great headphones
I bought these as I had started running again and I was using over ear headphones, so I was constantly looking behind me. These however have given me the confidence to just run. Sure, I still make a safety check every now and then, but I am so much more aware of my surroundings with these on they've been a game changer. Sound quality is decent, they are comfortable to wear, light weight, didn't move around when jogging, and the Bluetooth connectivity hasn't droped out at all. Very happy with this purchase.

Was a bit dubious 🤨. But they’re great 😊
Easy to set up and wear. Sound quality really good through bone 🦴- don’t ask me how - leaving ears free to listen for traffic.

Brilliant.
Love them. Expected them to be OK for wearing while cycling but quality better than expected.

Huge fan of these. Good battery life, sound is good, stay on my head just fine, no nasty headphones anymore. I use these for the gym and outdoor walks mainly but have used them for car rides and around the house activities as well which is nice because I can listen to a podcast, do dishes, and not be dead/deaf to the world I do notice sometimes with higher volume there can be a little vibration but the pros FAR outweigh and cons. I’ve never spent more than $20 on headphones so this was big for me. Well worth it! I don’t think I’ll ever use a different style.
