A: Counter is 35 1/2 inch's long by 15 1/2 in wide without spice rack or towel holder. I left off spice rack and attached a paper towel holder.

**Q: Can the spice rack & towel bar be removed?**
A: You do not have to add them when assembling it.

**Q: How do you clean the kitchen island surfaces (countertop as well as cabinet doors, drawer, etc)??**
A: Yes I love this thing it is perfect in my kitchen.  Hugh drawer and very large cabinet for storing what ever you need.

**Q: Is the finish on cabinet smooth?**
A: Yes
