The issue appeared mainly with complex music, where it sounded like a metallic crackle or plastic/metallic dome resonance from the tweeter. The biggest clue was the amplifier high-pass filter. With the high-pass around 70 Hz, the crackling issue could happen. When I raised the high-pass filter to around 95–100 Hz with a steep 30 dB/octave slope, the noise mostly disappeared, although it can still sometimes come through even at 100 Hz.
