Review: NOT as easy to install as the videos or instructions show, but once pass the humps, so worth it!!! - Been shopping for dash cams for our vehicles and this particular one seemed to fit and check many of our boxes. With the added bonus that it would install flawlessly into the body work or the car was the selling point along with how easy the online videos showed the install would go. It arrived well packaged and all spelling and grammar appeared to be spot on. NOW, the videos/directions show an easy pop off of a cover on the inside of the windshield. THIS was really the only issue I had with the install. On this first step, I popped off the cover and replaced it with the one that came with this dash cam and I immediately snapped off one of the front (facing front) plastic guides. The return process went flawlessly and for a brief second, I thought this just is not the product for me. I ordered another one and this time, I used physics and realized what went wrong the first time by watching all those videos and it went on just fine. There is a little of a gap between the new cover and the inside of the windshield, but there is no rattling around and operates just fine - not sure the gap wasn't there in the first place and I was not going to remove it and check. Didn't want to push my luck. The second issue may have been me not paying enough attention but let me just warn everyone, do not take the weatherstripping completely off; just remove the bottom part and tuck the cable into the vehicle. So, besides those two things, the install looks like it came from the factory and so far, so good. The app is working good. The dash cam creates its own WiFi, so just connect to it, watch the stored videos and download them if you want. To wrap this up, well worth the effort and so far, it's definitely worth the money. The videos simplify the install just a bit too much, so take your time.
Review: Won’t connect as advertised after owning a year. - 5/9/2025 late update. Camera is having major issues connecting to my iPhone 16 to review my videos/pics. Takes 10-50 times or more to get it to connect to the camera WIFI signal. It is saying it can’t connect, then out of the blue it connects but memory (vid/pic) are all erased. Next day same thing says it can’t connect. Is there a software update I can use? Love the camera but I need it to work 100 percent of the time. If not what good is it??? Original review Just what I needed with all the crazy drivers out there. Installed in less than 10 mins.( no rear camera installed yet. But I did purchase the duel camera. Records in 1 min increments and hold almost a month worth of videos. Dallas Tx to Branson Mo and back were all there thanks for having such a nice camera system for my 2017 Lexus Rx450h.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do I need to connect the dash cam everytime? Can I use CarPlay/Bluetooth as usual?**
A: You don't need to keep camera connected as it will auto-record after car starts. You only need to connect the camera in the need of viewing or downloading video. No affect the normal use of CarPlay or Bluetooth

**Q: Where is the video stored? Can I view video anytime i want?**
A: The video is auto-saved in SD card, not phone. 1. Only if you've downloaded footage to your phone in advance, you can watch it even off the car or remotely. 2. You can also watch it on computer by intserting SD card

**Q: With front 4k camera installed, can I add a rear cam separately?**
A: NO, because the PCB boards are different between single front and dual version.

**Q: Is the dash cam featured with Parking Sensor? And is it 24h recording?**
A: Not all FlTCAMX dash cams has parking sensor, you need extra harness to upgrade with this function. And there are 24h and non-24h recording option, please confirm with FlTCAMX for more details.

**Q: Why dash cam gets hot?**
A: It's normal situation but no worry. 1. The surrounding space of camera is small, and the original parts nearby will cause high temperature. 2.The camera is under windshield which is in direct sunlight by day.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well enough, not as sleek as expected.
*by D***M on July 29, 2025*

Works ok. Poor set of instructions. Manual says to click on more in the app -but that is useless. After I contacted them they sent me links to several youtube videos of someone doing installation. One of those youtube videos was actually pretty good, but you have to sort through them. There are certain keypoints to watch closely on - like getting the cover off on the front dash. The Lexus has a tighter tolerance than other cars shown in their videos. I took off the back trim to tuck wires in nicely only to find that the flexible hose to slip the wire through was fit too tight for the rearcam wire to fit through. So I had to go external which doesn't look pretty. The app is merely OK. I purchased a generic dash cam (both front/rear) for less than 1/5 the price of this one. It uses a better app. This one looks slightly more sleek in front with the built in front dash cam - but not sure it was worth 5 times the price. This is my wife's car so maybe it was worth it.
