Top Rate Electric Tea Kettle with Outstanding Customer Service!!!!
This is an excellent electric tea kettle. I got it to replace a Chef's Choice Model 688 which died on me after 6 years when it began to leak. I found I did not need total control over the temperature, which the Chef's Choice has, and a choice of these 6 temps is more than satisfactory. Additionally the Chef's Choice is more pricey, at $84 currently or almost twice the cost of this kettle ($46.97).When I received the kettle I had a hard time getting the Start switch to work. It took twelve to fifteen depressions to get the Start button to work. Once it was on, the kettle worked great and I really like the Keep Warm feature. Looking at another reviewer who eventually got his recalcitrant kettle to work by continuing to press the buttons. I kept trying for several days, but the Start button continued to work erratically and only after numerous tries. Rather than simply return the kettle, I contacted the seller, who immediately dispatched another kettle, even telling me not to bother returning the erratic one. The replacement arrived in a couple of days and worked perfectly right out of the box. Hurrah for Lika Supply LLC--GREAT customer service! In addition to the great customer service. I find:Pros:Capacity is enough to warm and fill my teapotGreat choice of temperatures allow me to brew a variety of teas or make a French Press pot of coffeeLove the Keep Warm featureNo stupid beeps as with so many machines. If I am making a cuppa, I am paying attention to the pot. Additionally, it is pretty quick, although I have not timed it from start to full rolling boil.Like the looks.Like the fact that the temperature buttons are never pressed with your finger but instead lit with each press of the Set button--so they should never wear off.Price at $46.97 was super considering what you get.Cons:If the top opened a bit wider to make it easier to clean. The Chef's Choice allowed me to get my hand inside to scrub. Looks like I will be constrained to CL&R diluted solution to descale periodically, but that is a small price to pay..In sum, I am very happy with this tea kettle and recommend it despite the possibility that you might have to try a second before getting one that works right out of the box. Again--GREAT customer service!!!

short life not worth the money
I liked the looks. I enjoyed the the super hot water which made excellent tea and then within 6 months it just quit working which 3 of those months it wasn't used. Terribly disappointed with its short life.

Eh...3.5 stars
We had this wonderful Breville one before that worked so much better, but was too expensive. Really missing the dinger bell. Also this is not one handed use like others. Breville one had button by handle to lift lid while holding it. This one the button to lift lid is on top and requires two steps. It's also awkward to lift and move, strange shape and weighted funny. Narrow opening makes it harder to fill. But it is stainkess steel and relatively inexpensive. Does the job of boiling water, just in a clutsy way.

Great, but a heavy lift
Fortunately, I only boil one cup of water for tea at a time. Otherwise, I would have difficulty lifting and replacing pot onto the plate, which has a circular protrusion and pot must fit over that little knob to settle in place. If you have arthritic or weak hands, this could be a problem. (The lower limit is a little more than my one cup, so I have to fill beyond amount I normally need.) Other than the weight of the product, it is great. Water comes to a boil quickly and water level is easy to see through side window. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to avoid boiling water in a plastic pot.

and it was very nice. But it's not worth keeping
Fickle from the get-go. I really hoped I wouldn't get a kettle that had the problems many people complained about. But the buttons work inconsistently. I had one day in a week that all of the buttons worked perfectly just as they should, and it was very nice. But it's not worth keeping, since it never worked properly after that.

Quiet kettle with bells & whistles and a great price!
I know there were a few one-star ratings, but I haven't had the problems those people had. I bought this kettle to replace a Chef's Choice kettle I've used every day for 12 years. It was becoming finicky about making the connection to the base. This kettle is quieter, holds the same amount (1.7L) and there's no problem connecting to its base. It looks nice, which is great, but I care more about function. I love the multiple temperature function for different types of teas so you don't burn the more delicate teas like green tea. But my favorite feature by far is the 2-hour "keep warm" feature!! I have a bad habit of turning on the kettle for tea and getting caught up in something else and forgetting about my tea for an hour or more. With the old kettle, I had to boil it again. This kettle keeps the water at or very near the desired temperature for two hours, so no waiting for it to heat back up again! It's perfect for a busy teacher like me! So far, I couldn't be happier! Someone else had mentioned it was hard to tell if the keep warm feature is on. There is a red indicator light that comes on behind the temperature you select and the keep warm and start buttons, so there's no mystery there. This kettle does what the temp select Cuisinart kettle does for just over half the price. Don't waste your money for the Cuisinart name. But this kettle. Oh, and a week after it arrived, the head of the DeRozzi brand sent me a personal email asking if the product met my expectations, and she personally responded to my response. They seem to be a fairly new company and are concerned about quality control and customer satisfaction, so if I'd had a problem (I haven't), I'm convinced they'd have tried to make it right. If you're an avid tea drinker or if you brew your coffee in a French press, this kettle is a great choice and will save you money.
