A Spoonful of Murder: A totally unputdownable British cozy mystery novel

I usually love my British Cozy Mystery genre books, no matter what time in history they take place. I like the different ways we refer to things, and in this book, I could relate to the similar complaints both countries share: what children go thru, the internet, real estate etc. The method of the murder was smart too. However, I almost put the book down halfway thru and almost did not finish the book. I had to muddle my way through this book. Too many characters that were unnecessary, too many musings of the characters that had nothing to do with the mystery, or to their character development. Do we really care that all of the main characters at once noticed Kelly Anne’sroots? I found myself wanting to edit this book and cross out all the extraneous things that were distracting from the true heart of the story. It wasn’t until I finally reached the last quarter of the book, where all conversations centered around the murder that I could truly enjoy this book. I believe this author has the potential to write a good mystery, but needs to center the story more. Good luck and good writing in your future endeavors

The product was delivered in a good condition. Overall a nice product .

The story itself is not the problem, although I haven’t even reached the half of the book. The grammar is all over the place! So many times he writes “she was sat” - “she was sitting/seated” is the correct form. “Like it was something” is also incorrect. Sometimes he writes correctly “as though it were”, but very inconsistently. This is very off-putting for me and is making me consider to stop reading the book.
