“...a very unsatisfactory biographical work...”

That’s the author’s own conclusion... and I’d certainly agree... it would be nice to have seen it posted upon the front cover rather than page 168... though there were early signs of rot setting in with the bizarre overuse of the phrase “Literary Valhalla”. The book’s poorly written and thin on substance - it relies heavily upon quotations, plot summaries and dubious inferences of possible fact from published fiction.
