This is soooo easy to use! And soooo fast! I was used to slow back-ups that took forever if I didn't back up at least once every day (as we all should). The Kioxia takes only minutes at most. If I haven't entered much data or many photos since the last backup it takes only seconds. If I keep the Kioxia connected it backs up automatically every hour, seamlessly. I don't know if it does this with all computers; you'll need to check whether yours also does this. For security, I encrypt my backups. That's easy, too. You'll see the option to set that up at the first use. Once you do that, each following time you use the drive you'll enter your password, so be sure to use one that you won't forget but that no one else can guess easily. No birthdates, no sequential numbers like 12345, no sequential letters like ABCDE, etc. For those looking for help with that, the Internet has plenty of advice on how to choose suitable passwords.

An excellent value USB 2TB SSD device - I believe it's actually manufactured by Toshiba in Japan. It's encased in a quality hard metal shell for protection and heat dissipation. Performance is as advertised when on a USB 3.2 port (see photo). Even with large file transfers, the device gets warm rather than hot. The maximum I have seen (using CrystalDiskInfo) is ~51 degC - that's good. You get 2 cables (USB A and C) so connection to a PC or tablet is easy. I have tested it with backups and large file copies. I also connected it as additional USB storage on our TerraMaster NAS device. In all cases, the SSD has proved to be quick and reliable. With quick Amazon Prime delivery and a very reasonable price, I can't complain at all! Indeed, I am rather chuffed ๐ ๐

Compact formaat, met usb-a en usb-c kabels. Alleen valt hij random uit en gaat dan weer ineens aan. Beide kabels gebruikt en ook op een andere laptop gebruikt. Ligt dus duidelijk aan de SSD, zal hem moeten terugsturen. Wellicht heb ik gewoon pech, maar vertrouwen is nu wel weg op deze SSD.
