David Busch’s Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Guide to Digital SLR Photography Review: Takes the Stress out of Reading a Manual - I dread manuals. Not only, because I am never 100% sure, if I understood the instructions correctly, but also because sometimes, even if I replicate the steps, still they do not work, because I missed a detail that was not mentioned. That stress can get almost unbearable, especially with an expensive piece of equipment and buyer's remorse lurking just around the corner. CUT TO David Busch's Canon 5 d Mark IV Guide: Outstanding! One of the most excellent camera guides I have ever read. I do not know, how the author David Busch does it, but the text is crystal clear, step by step, never boring, easy to follow and written in a style, that is both engaging and really calming. Instead of panic, the motto is: You've got this. You can do it. The author is super knowledgeable. I feel, I really got a rock solid foundation for my Canon. Better than any YouTube tutorial. Thank you David Busch. There is a reason that Davi Busch is dubbed "the unknown best-selling author". He can really write. Review: Just what I was looking for!! - This book has all you need to know your Eos 5D mark 4 camera. With plenty of pictures and explanations in detail. Every chapter has descriptions and detailed explanations of the camera functions. As an amateur photographer I enjoy very chapter and also relearn stuff I have forgotten or not done for a while in my photo-taking outings. I found the recommended accessories and set-ups for portrait shooting very useful. It definitely a book for pros and beginners . A great must if you wanna know your 5D Mark lV better.!!

Better than the manual with which the camera came
So much better than the manual the camera had in the box. That says it all. Bigger print, great pictures and easy to follow and find the information which you need or for which you are looking. Wish I had known about it when I first got my camera.

Nice Addition to the EOS 5D Mark IV
I didn't buy this book until I had used the camera for many months, so I was quite familiar with the 5D mark IV and was pretty comfortable dialing in my preferences. But I like to know all the possibilities and carried the book to various appointments for "waiting room" reading material. Now it serves as a reference, I mean, the 5D4 is very versatile and you may make a change somewhere and days or weeks later totally forget where you found that action or toggle. It's quicker and less frustrating for me to grab the book and look the information up rather than search through the cameras menus, but that's just me. I can understand the negative comments from others about this book having a bunch of information not directly related to settings and functionality of the 5D4, and in fact, most of it is in every David Bush Canon camera guide. It's as if he is writing the guide for someone who knows very little about photography in general, so you might not get that and find it annoying, particularly if you are a seasoned photographer and just want to get to the nuts n bolts of the guides subject. I see the extraneous chapters as refreshers and kind of like them. I have three of his camera guides and one on Digital Photography. Most of the relevant information in his guides is indeed in the user manuals, but he expands them nicely and makes reading and understanding them much easier than the user manuals do. Since Canon cameras share a lot of the same settings, I am sure he has a "base" to work from and simply expands or adds to previous works. I did find a few glaring mistakes, like referring to the 5D mark IV as a "crop sensor" camera throughout the book, and some of the "general" info (not 5D4 specific) is outdated and no longer relevant. I did like the sections on various accessories and utilized the flash portion to pick out a flash. He provides quite a bit of info that helps you to pick out a flash or lens then walks you through the settings that are available, especially the chapter on flash photography with the 5D4. I had never used an external flash, particularly an RT type, so I found it invaluable when I bought one. Overall, his books are easy to read and understand, and I got a few chuckles from his stories from "back in the day", which are still relevant.

Excellent resource
An outstanding reference guide for a highly complex camera. The chapters are arranged in a logical order. From a novice to an experienced photographer, all can benefit from the information

His books are nicely done.
I like his books. I actually learned a lot of photography the first time I ordered his book about the 70d, way back when. I have ordered a new book every time I upgraded cameras. I now just bought a 5d Mark IV, and got yet another book. Sure, at this point, a lot of the information is review, but who can't use a good review? I strongly recommend these books for the beginner photography. And even the enthusiast will get something out of these books. I do. His books do not only teach you how to use your camera, but in the process, are teaching you how to be a photographer. They are nicely done.
