Works great for goat kids…and human kids
We bought this to make it easier to trim our Nigerian dwarf goat’s hooves. They are still under a year old, but I am fully confident this will work when they are grown. (as you can see. it holds my 11 year old just fine 😂) Makes trimming their hooves and weighing them so easy! We also used it to examine an injured leg on one of our does. I appreciate the large metal rings so that it can be easily hooked onto something, it seems sturdy and very well-made.

Decent quality
Used this when the farrier came to do trims for a mini horse that had osteoarthritis. We thought we could rig it to alleviate some of the horse's body weight to make trimming easier. It worked. It's decent quality, and held up.

Just as advertised
Works well. Disregard the reviews that claim it’s too small. I purchased this for weighing newborn kids based on those reviews. What’s we got is plenty big and sturdy for our calves. We’ve weighed up to 150#s. The rings alone weigh about 6oz each and are plenty sturdy and the corduroy and webbing should hold up well. The only complaint is the clips on the leg and rump straps are plastic, so will likely break in short time. Unfortunately, we ordered hoping to use it for baby goats, as mentioned. Unfortunately it’s way too big to be practical for that. But it is exactly as listed, so I can’t complain, it was my gamble.

Works ok
Works ok, the straps tend to loosen up. Doesn’t fit great on goats from 40-120lbs. Doesn’t seem big enough for a calf. I would not recommend this if you were using it for a dog, or using it to lift dogs or goats up to trim nails/hooves.

Not for a calf.
This says it will hold up to a 200 lb calf, I have a 40 lb calf and it folds up when you lift up on the straps the way it's made. do not purchase for your calves. Even with chest and butt strap on it folds up under the weight of the calf and cuts them in to. Back to using a hay bale to help support his weight so he can gain leg strength. Once again, don't buy for use on a calf.

Worked great for trimming goat hooves
SOOO much easier to trim my goats hooves. The goat did not seem to mind it at all. We lifted her up with tractor and it worked great. We will now need to try the pig. That should be interesting.

Jeffers calf sling Good quality
Jeffers calf sling. For smaller calves or medium sized goats. Not for very small animals or overly big. Heavy duty rings give multiple options for attaching rigging. Straps offer more security in the sling.
