My guess would be 2g. as it's not much thicker than Saran Wrap.

Was this curtain given a chemical mildew treatment? Package says "proprietary antimicrobial and mildew treatment inhibits mold and mildew."

I'd prolly just go by what the packaging says. I do t work for the co oany so can't tell you what was done to manufacture it.

Is this product really as good as advertised?

As good as advertised? Tough to answer. It works for me. It's the right size. After every shower I pat it down to get the excess water off of it. It will still need to be replaced every couple of months, give or take, depending on how often and how long your showering habits are.
