My family and I were going to a museum that was an hour and a half away from our house. We had plans to get dinner nearby but didn't want to eat museum food for lunch. We bought a different Bentgo to keep food warm when we went to amusement parks and our only issue was that it wasn't big enough. This one was PERFECT! We filled it up with some chicken tenders from home and when we opened it four hours later, the food was still warm! I should've put a paper towel in there to combat the condensation which led to sogginess of the top layer, but the rest was great! It's easy, and fun, to use. Our 5 year old said it feels like opening a time capsule. A week after the museum trip, we brought soup to a sick family member and she was impressed with how long it was able to keep the heat in. It's very easy to clean thanks to it's wide moutha nd simple parts. The quality is perfect, and the weight is great!

This is perfect for my 9 year old boy. For me I just needed a wide insulated container he can eat from easily. I know that the narrow mouth types keep food hotter for longer but my son is not looking for steaming hot food. As long as it is warm then its ok. His food stays warm ( hotter than lukewarm) for at least 6 hours. Food like rice, boiled potatoes with sauce, fries,chicken, eggs, pasta (even after 9hrs leftovers doesn't go stale but ofcos i still toss it ...haha). I usually fill it halfway cos thats how much he eats. Honestly, I love this container. It washes well also in dishwasher. I was worried if he will open it easily but he can! so its a plus for me. Someone talked about the rubber stuff on the cover being difficult to fix back. But i figured it out maybe i can explain how to in another review. Good product guys!!!

Tried a few of these for teenage son. This is by far the best. Well made. Solid. So here's the thing it needs some liquid to retain the heat. Chicken friend rice stayed warm. Chowder - be sure to press the air release on sealing kept the food hot from 7.30 to lunch time. Kiddo was over the moon to have his favourite hot food. So win win.

I am so glad that I bought this thermal. I loved it so much that I bought 4 of them! And I’ll probably buy more. I tested how long this thermal kept warm by adding boiling water to the thermal and close it. I checked on it 3 times within a 24 hours period. After 6 hours, the water was still hot and steaming. After 12 hours the water was still a good hot temperature but not burning to the touch. But definitely hot. And then after 24 hours the water was no longer steaming or hot but Luke warm. My kid’s school do not have hot lunch services. We have to pack our kids a lunch. They do have a microwave but the lines for the microwave is so long. By the time my kids are able to heat up their foods, time is up for lunch. So I bought these thermals so that I can prepare hot meals for my kids. And 9/10 times, the meals that I have packaged for my kids are still yummy hot when they open the containers for lunch 4-5 hours after I packaged them. These thermals are NOT microwave safe! They wash very easily by hand or in the dishwasher. Someone from another review recommended that we fill the container up with boiling water first, close it, leave the water for 5-10min, dump the hot water out, then add your hot foods to the container. Don’t forget to push down on the middle button on the lid for a good seal. If you don’t do this, your top might pop off if it is tipped on the side or upside down. I had to learn this the hard way. At first I thought that the price was expensive for the product. But after using the product for several months now, it is worth every penny. I have bought more since. This would be great for road trips and picnics too, not just to pack lunches. Works for cold foods too. But my kids like hot foods so I mostly make only hot foods to put in the container.

It;s pretty nice, I can send my husband to work with a lunch that will be hot.
