Fantastic!!
I'm so over the moon with this phone from Punkt! I'd read a lot about it online after a friend mentioned it to me, but I was keen to see if it really stacked up in real life. It arrived today and I'm so impressed with the quality and design of it. Firstly, it looks beautiful, the minimalist, paired-down design is exactly why I wanted one in the first place and it doesn't disappoint - it has that mid-Century classic feel to it. The materials are first-class, great texture but also feels very durable but has that lightweight feel. It powered up right out of the box which is nice - I managed to set it up very quickly. Aside from the way it looks, I wanted a phone that would allow me to take a break from the many other distractions of my 'smart' phone. This product strips away all the unnecessary stuff to the few simple functions you need, perfect for achieving an enjoyable level of 'digital balance'. I will likely use it as a companion to my smartphone but I can also see how it would be just as able to be a standalone device.

Most things don't work
I had a KaiOS device before this. Hotspot worked. No problems with data. No major issues whatsoever. Then I got this phone which, bear in mind, is FARR more expensive. Data doesn't work. Hotspots don't work. Then, to put the final nail in the coffin, when I had come to remove my SIM card, the SIM tray would not eject. Absolutely horrible experience I've had with this device. Their support is also useless, taking a mind-numbingly long 3-4 days to reply to any issue. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Better than expected, after reading some of the reviews
Having first tried the nokia 110 and nokia 225, both of which were returned as being worse than useless, I finally bit the bullet and tried this Punkt phone. It would have been my first choice, but for the price and the poor reviews. Unlike all the other modern dumb phones I have tried, this does not feel like a step backwards from the technology perspective. The User Interface is intuitive and easy, it feels as though it is well made (fingers crossed there) and, as much as these things can be, it is pleasant to use. Battery life is not great, 2 to 3 days, and the battery is not replaceable. But it is of a par with the two useless pieces of rubbish mentioned above. If vodafone honour their promise to beef up the 4G signal (fat chance!) then the battery will last longer. The Contacts management is not great, [First Name, Surname] or [Surname, First Name], but I know it can be OK, having bought one for my partner and on her phone the contacts display correctly as [First Name Surname]. So perhaps, with some messing about and if I re RTFM I will be able to sort that out. After connecting to the WiFi, (press the # key immediately after selecting the letter for uppercase), software updates can be downloaded and also you can personalise the phone and add the pigeon app. The latter may be of limited use and I have uninstalled it. Not tried tethering yet but imagine it will work OK and drain the battery faster (of course) Not tried the bluetooth yet but, again, this should be standard stuff, though it will drain the battery if left on all the time. Overall, if you want a phone that does text messages and allows you to tether for internet access via mobile contract data, this seems to be a good device. It will not do any apps and will not drive you to distraction like other dumb phones. This one seems to have been designed for ease of use, as a phone that also does text messages.

Not polished enough to justify the high price
The hardware on the PM02 is pretty good quality, it feels good in the hand and the buttons have a nice click. Felt like it had promise, however the reality is somewhat different. In short I can’t recommend this product as it feels like something that is still in early Beta, which isn’t really good enough for nearly 300 quid. Note I updated the software version when I bought the phone. Good • call quality and volume on calls • Solid feeling build • Small and easy to carry around Not so Good • Just too expensive for the very very limited feature set. • Software felt very sluggish navigating between features and user interface is cumbersome. • Texting felt slow compared to my old Nokia Feature Phone • The Pigeon client is not easy to setup if you want to use Signal, in the end I just couldn’t get it to work (I gave up after about 60 times) • No battery life or signal strength visible at a glance. • Battery not anywhere near as good as it should be given how simple it is, and 2.5 days standby would appear optimistic. • Missing Audio Notes which should be easy given its based-on Android. • No replaceable battery. A reasonable start but returned the product.

For the Digital Minimalist.
I’m genuinely grateful that a product like this exists in today’s world — a simple, elegant phone designed for intentional use. It handles calls, texts, and the occasional hotspot — and that’s all you need. You won’t find yourself doomscrolling for hours, because you simply can’t. Built with durability in mind, it feels like a solid monoblock — compact, reliable, and made to last. It fits comfortably in the centre of your palm, leaving plenty of space to type naturally. The button layout is excellent too: each button is perfectly sized so you can press it cleanly without accidentally hitting others. Functionally, it’s everything you need for a quieter, more focused way of life. Do it for yourself — break free from the algorithms.

Dissapointing
Don’t buy. Terrible operating system, poor battery life, dim screen, spongy buttons, unintuitive and expensive to boot. I wasted my money on this and should have bought a nokia.

Also Sim wieder raus, in anderes Handy rein, Simkontakte gelöscht und dann wieder Sim ins MP02. Jetzt alles super.

As soon as I received this phone, I fell in love with it due to its simplicity and non-addictive nature. However, the alarm clock sound is incredibly scary. Is there an option to update it, or a way to change the alarm voice?

Read the instructions. No point jumping in thinking it's like any other smart phone. It's not. Setting up is easy if you read the instructions. So in closing, I'd like to say, read the instructions.

Riguardo a PUNKT MP02. Buona giornata
