Great knife, scraper...works perfect!

Absolutely love it! Just get it (and the additional blades)

If you have ever picked up a tiny box cutter or razor knife, you know how hard they can be to hold onto. Great for portability and storage, but not as good for hard use. And don’t get me started on losing it while cutting up boxes or opening packages, LOL. When doing household projects, I sometimes have to pull the blade out of the razor in order to scrape a sticker or some adhesive off. Enter this bad boy! This ToughBuilt tool works as a regular utility knife that offers a large handle for a good grip. On top of that, it turns into a scraper as well, with just a push of a button. The fidget factor is off the charts. I find myself just sitting there pressing the button and watching the blade change orientation from utility knife to scraper, and back again. Over and over. There is something cathartic about using this tool. However, some of the goodness can be a detractor as well. This is a chonk of a tool, so it’s big and kinda heavy. And if you don’t really need the scraper feature or something this robust, then it’s just overkill. But if you need something fun to fidget with and built to do work, this might be for you.

First off, when I saw these were on sale I ordered a couple more, so now I have 3. One in the garage, one in the shop, and one for a gift, IMO, a bargain when priced under $20. First off, I will say it is a usable utility knife, but not the best. It is bulky, doesn't have the easiest blade lock mechanism, and requires special blades (the ones with the rectangular hole in the middle). It does have a decent quick-change mechanism, though. Where this REALLY excels, is as a scraper. In fact, it is one of the best scrapers I have for its size, and is also one of the safest, as well. You extend the blade, then push the blade lock a bit farther, and the blade rotates 90* to scraper position. Again, as a scraper it is excellent, and I love how easy it is to swap in a new blade. When not scraping, it only takes a second to retract the blade, so no danger of cutting yourself. If you are looking for a utility knife, there are better ones out there. If you are looking for a scraper that has a utility knife sized blade, this one is my favorite. Yes it does take special blades, but so far they have been really easy to find, and really not any more expensive than other utility knife blades. The blades are identical to other utility blades except for the rectangular hole in the middle, so the blades from this knife works in others perfectly.

No nonsense engineering, and a unique, innovative design. I work in an e-commerce shipping department and we often recycle boxes to save money, and this means that that I remove a lot of old labels. Now with the flip of my thumb I will be able to easily switch from cutting to scraping, and back again without the need to look for, and pick up a second tool. I can change or rotate the blade from the cutting position by pressing, and holding one button. There is no internal compartment for storing extra blades but not having a screw that constantly loosens is actually a plus. The tool is a little wider than most utility knives and the grips have the feel of hard rubber. There is a guard that prevents your index finger from moving forward towards the blade. It is snugly assembled using 6 torx fasteners and It has a comfortable, and solid feel to it when holding. One of the videos associated with this product claims that the blade does not lock in the retracted blade position, this is a false claim. The blade locks securely in all positions and will not move until you press the release button. I would highly recommend this tool for anyone, especially if your job requires using both a utility knife and a scraper.

I have been wanting one of these ToughBuilt convertibles for a few years since I first saw them advertised but they seemed unavailable at first. So when I saw them come up on Amazon, I ordered one. It arrived very promptly in commercial packaging in perfect condition. I keep it handy on my workbench and it has become my go-to utility knife. The fact that it converts into a scraper with the push of a button is a bonus. The handle is sturdy and feels good to hold. Uses the standard blades that I have had in all my old utility knives. I'll use the old ones around paint and varnish now.

A brilliant quality scraper and knife - more expensive than others, but it will last me a lifetime and is well worth for money. Thanks.

Quality is top-notch. Unbeatable at opening packages and the scraping tool is also a great plus for very specific requirements. It’s extremely durable and the blades are also of excellent quality.
