At first, I just manually ran the litter box 2-3 times a day and this was just too stinky! The poop smell with the scented solution was not very pleasent! Since then I have changed it to 1-2 cats to run 30 minutes after the cats use the box and this has been perfect. If there is any stinky smell, I just run the bathroom fan which helps. I now like the smell of the scented solution since I have figured out a setting that works well. The fact that I only have to clean out the litter box twice a year and plug in a cartridge every few months makes a recognizable difference to my life and happiness.
