I know that this is an expensive purchase and it can be hard to find genuine reviews which reflect use over time. I intend to keep this review regularly updated to help other sufferers decide whether it is worth the financial plunge. I bought this Lumea about six weeks ago and have only used it on my face and underarms so far. However, is really easy to use 'straight out of the box'. It is essential to do a skin test to ensure you do not have a bad reaction to any of the intensity settings. Being light-skinned with dark hair, I am the ideal candidate for treatment. Thus far, I have found the pain to be minimal, with only one or two 'make me jump' moments under my arms!! It is easy to transport and I took it on holiday with me to maintain treatments. The wire is a decent length, probably about 5ft, allowing me to easily do my treatments in a bathroom mirror. *Armpits* I have done four treatments and the regrowth is about 60% less already!! It is smooth in these successful areas and shaving takes no time at all now. I suspect that with a few more weekly treatments, I will only need quick, monthly maintenance sessions (which take about 2 minutes per armpit). Thus far, the Lumea has been a HUGE success underarm and it is certainly NOT the pits. *Face* This is my biggest problem area (and an emotionally-distressing one) so I am really keen for the Lumea to work on my face. Thus far, after 5 treatments, I am not noticing a lot of difference aside from considerably-reduced growth on my upper lip (the regrowth is very slow and hair has decreased by about half). However, whilst the growth has slowed a little on the rest of my face, I still need to shave every day. It is quite disappointing but I do understand that hormonal issues make hair removal harder. Due to the success with my underarms though, I am persevering with weekly sessions and will update again in a month! Update: Oct '24. My update is a little later than planned due to caring for my Mum who has dementia. However, I am still not noticing much change in my facial hair besides slightly slower growth (I still have to tackle it every day though). The effect on my armpits remains good, despite not using the Lumea in this area for about 6 weeks. Currently, it is about a month before I need to shave my arm pits, whereas before I used the Lumea, I would shave every 7-10 days. So, the main reason for which I bought the Lumea (my face) has not been successful so far. I am going to persist until the new year but at the moment, I would say that it was NOT worth the investment. If things change though, I'll update accordingly.

Life changing, I have had IPL hair removal professionally on my face, 12 sessions and this is by far better. In just 8 weeks (or using weekly) I now have no hair on my body, eyes down! Absolutely life changing before the summer holidays. Heat level/pain is bearable on the highest setting (each area just depends) but you have the autonomy to choose a lower setting.
