Not just for basic cuts and scrapes. Neosporin helped with cat bite and scratches. Neosporin is an essential first aid product to have. With triple antibiotic functionality it is great for ordinary cuts and scrapes but as in my case recently for cat bite and scratches too. Yup, I made the mistake of picking up a supposedly friendly stray cat. While in my hands it saw my cat and went wild. To avoid both cats fighting, I held onto the stray for dear life. He bit and scratched me pretty bad. Of course, it was the weekend after hours so I couldn't go to a walk-in or anything but considering how much bacteria a cats mouth and claws have, I immediately reached for the Neosporin. Neosporin was my friend. The clear ointment applied on smoothly. Ointment has a vaseline texture which is silky and hydrating on the skin and spreads easily. Therefore, not much was needed. No sting. No smell. It helped soothe my injuries. Although, I would not say it provided pain relief or any numbing at all. It did help keep infection at bay and in my opinion helped injuries heal faster with less redness and scabing. Too soon to tell if there will be scaring but this product has helped so much that I doubt it. See my pics for before and after using neosporin for 5 days. Awesome antibiotic ointmen

I have bought this more than once and have used it for quite a while. Every time my dog scratches me or I get a small wound or cut, I put it on. It really seems to speed up the healing process. I have never gotten any infections since I started using it. I don't notice pain relief with this because the scratches and wounds don't really hurt since they are minor. I should probably try it on mosquito or other insect bites too. But, the main thing is, nothing is getting infected and it doesn't hurt to put this on the wound.

I can genuinely say it is helping, whereas the store brand wasn't. So I'm glad I invested in buying three, since I have a tendency to injure myself during seizures. I have a few large open wounds on my foot which are super hard to keep clean, so I will try to update. They are scrapes and one large burn, Right now, it is doing better at drying up the edges, sealing off the skin, & aiding the body's natural immunity. I haven't noticed any difference in pain relief, but I wasn't really looking for pain relief, to be frank. This gel is a large tube, larger than I expected at 1oz, and is cheaper for three online than in store. I'm in no way selling Neosporin, but I think it's definitely worthwhile to buy brand in this case, if you have a low immune system or allergy.

I didn't feel much pain relief when using this product, so I will likely get the normal kind in the future

My husband had developed a raw blister in his buttock area and I purchased this product at the local drugstore upon the recommendation of the pharmacist. It was more expensive so I found the same product and larger size for a more reasonable price. We live on fixed income and this product works great. He's been applying it for two weeks now and since he had developed a scab, it's finally healing and he says it no longer hurts. He recommends this product.
