Hannex ESTJ222W Electric Stew Pot, 2.2 L, Red

I don't know that this makes the best rice, but it's pretty cool otherwise and it's really simple to use. It comes with three lidded ceramic pots to cook in; one fairly good sized one and two smaller ones. The whole principle is that the food cooks in these crocks in a water bath. The water temperature can be set from a gentle simmer to a full boil. Because the food is surrounded by water, you can't burn it. I have made everything from yogurt, which it made beautifully, to custard, cake, rice, beans, soup, and today I am going to try a meat loaf. It is quiet, and looks attractive on my counter, and though it vents a little steam, it doesn't seem to put out a lot of heat, which will be nice in the summer. If it does, I can move it into the utility room so I don't heat the kitchen. It's pretty much set and forget, and when the timer shuts off, it goes into warm mode to keep food from getting cold. I also found that any ceramic container with a lid that will fit into the unit works, so I have more options. I've even used a large ceramic bowl that I simply covered with a small plate (I don't like plastic lids or wrap) to make rice pudding and it worked great. My only complaint is that I wish I'd bought the larger version so I could fit larger containers in it. I think it would be great for slow cooking larger roasts or chicken. Oh, and the instructions stink, but it's easy enough to figure out and you can't hurt it or mess anything up as long as it has water in it.

We had a little problem starting this cooker since the manuel wasn't really clear. We contacted the maker and they actually walked us thru the steps and it started boiling a second later. The electric cooker is much better than using your stove top for soups, it cuts the time shorter and clean up is easier.

It cooks very slower.

It comes with one big pot and two small pots. i used small pot to make soup and other small pot was used for sweet red bean. Although the small pot is only 0.7 litre, it's enough for 2 person to share for one pot. To cut time shorter , i put boiling water into the pot and chose "slow stew" function for making soup. If you like to make soup, this stewpot is very helpful.

This is an awesome slow cooker. It worth the money. It is very convenient and can cook nice dessert and soup in 3-4 hours.

It's very convenient to use. I put the cooking materials in the morning and the procedure is completed when I come back home. It's safe and the nutrient of the soup is keeped well

This is the best cooker I ever bought! The preset function can save you a lot of time.
