They spin!
Which is what they are supposed to do! Bought two of these 1 each for the Crown Vic and the Town Car. If you know the cars you know they have a heavy steering feel! Not like the old Caddies that you could spin with one finger! These cars require a firm hand or two, to make a fast turn. Having a bad shoulder from a fall that doesn't like big movements and having experience with my big rig driving in the past felt this was the way to go!They work great and do what they are supposed to do, make one-handed steering easier!

4th one. Have this in all our family vehicles.
I have this in all the family vehicles, 09 XB, 10 Prius, 05 suburban and 07 jeep. My wife has had 8 shoulder surgeries with the 9th coming up. These are a tremendous help for her. They get installed on any vehicle we have had.Theyre not technically legal in Ca, but if a cop mentions it, and hear why, they are fully understanding. Plus theyre removable and dont really care. Theyre mlunted top center just to assist for turns, not lower for normal driving.

works great
I just got this thing yesterday. Due to absolute necessity, I pretty much had to install it immediately. The very first thing I did in following suit with other reviews what's go to the hardware store to purchase longer machine screws, longer by about eight of an inch or so. But make no mistake be sure and request or look for a Phillips head screw. Because who needs to waste time searching high and low for the perfect metric sized dinky Allen wrench. Definitely use the rubber shim that comes with the device, if you don't there's a good chance it will slip, which may cause you to over steer can you attempt to recover. This has happened to me twice since using these devices. So please pay attention the most dangerous Factor in using a spinner knob, Is the potential of over steering. Beyond that these devices are awesome. I lost the use of my left arm a couple years back but without this device I would not be able to drive my vehicle safely. Be patient be careful and good luck.

Good secure safe use for people who can only use one arm to drive
This allowed me to obey my doctor while disobeying him. In the post op instructions for rotator cuff repair, "no driving" were the doctors orders. But I needed to drive, as I had no one to help me who could drive. What he really wanted was that I didn't use my right arm (the one that was operated on). With this item, I could drive (disobey) while not using my right arm (obey). I do not know why people nick name them "suicide knobs" as there was nothing suicidal about this product. To the contrary, it allowed me drive safely and securely drive with one arm.

Steering Wheel Knob
I recently had shoulder surgery and one of the worst things about the recovery was my lack of independence - especially my inability to drive! I ended up walking miles to and from the physical therapist - which was fine when weather was OK; but miserable during rainstorms. One of my sons-in-law fitted this Steering Wheel Spinner Knob to my Land Rover steering wheel and suddenly driving's a breeze!! Even tight 3-point turns! It took him about 3 minutes to install and life has changed for the better ever since! I heartily recommend this accessory - I'm not sure why anyone would need it unless you're incapacitated in some way - but I guess even laziness would be a good reason to get one of these little devices.

Did not last
I've had to fix this twice. It tends to pull off of the axle. The first time, I taped the axle to give a more secure fit which only lasted for a short time. I don't think it cares much for the Arizona heat., The second time it pulled off, it was cracking around the base, so, I double bubbled it do the axle and it lasted quite a while. However, the other day I was turning and it just fell off. The bottom was all cracked and a piece even fell off. For Arizona, I don't think you can use plastic knobs. I've ordered replacement, a polished aluminum one which should last much longer, and, burn a nice imprint in my hand whenever I'm ready to go. One thing about "suicide knobs", once you drive with one, you won't want to drive without.

Spinner knob
I am a paraplegic and continue to drive sports cars. I demand a lot from my vehicles and I am very particular in the quality of both the vehicle and parts that I use. The knob mounting fit the steering wheel tightly and compliments the vehicle's moniker and appearance very well. I had to go through a couple of poor iterations (of steering wheel knobs) that were discarded, but this was nearly perfect. I had to insert a washer to shim the spacing between the knob and mount, however this is insignificant to me as it was easily solved (it could create a pinch point if not shimmed). I am very happy with this knob and highly recommend it to others.
