Big improvement over the original plastic pieces.
I have four of these Bose speaker stands and while moving one of them a few weeks back the spacer listed here broke in two pieces and that was the end of the speaker standing up straight. I found many replacements but all were plastic and not much less money than this one. I opted for the steel replacement so it doesn't break again. This worked and fit perfectly and now the stand is back upright and very solid. I'll probably be ordering more for the other stands because I'm sure they aren't too far behind from having the same problem. Highly recommend this item.

Solid metal — the way it should’ve been.
Perfect fit for my Bose speaker stand. Solid item that will never break. I immediately ordered a second one for the other one that hasn’t broken yet.
