Cheese didn't work because it shrivels up and the mice are able to grab the cheese without setting off the trap. They didn't even try to touch the peanut butter I used. Know what works? CHOCOLATE! I melted a piece of Dove chocolate and used an old baby medicine syringe to get into the trap.
