Fitterfirst Bongo Board Balance Stability Trainer

I was in a motorcycle accident and busted up my left leg, ankle, and foot pretty badly, needing surgeries and rehab. One of my biggest issues with my ankle is eversion and inversion movement, as well as tilt and rotation of the joint.I have been desperate to find something I can do at home that will help with my range of motion issues, and when I saw this, I jumped for it.First--let me tell you, that sitting on the couch, moving it around, helps my ROM issues. When I try to stand on it, it pushes me so hard, to move and strengthen my ankle, foot, and leg (both sides, but of course, the left is more stressed). When you move around, it works your entire core (and my core is pretty strong to begin with).I can imagine that this will continue to get harder and harder as I progress through the tips that are included (from simply standing on it and remaining motionless all the way to walking it across the room).It's a lot of fun to do, too, presuming you can laugh at yourself when you fall.A great party game hahaha. (But don't do this if you're under the influence--you'd break your neck for sure!)If you're a person with little core strength or balance, you might want to use it against a wall, and keep your hands on the wall for balance. Also working on the carpet is a good starting point. Moving away from the wall and onto hard surfaces would make things harder.This is a quality piece of equipment. It's VERY sturdy, the skid plates are totally non-slip, and the underside's roller is smooth (won't hurt your floor) and sturdy. The plank itself is very strong. I didn't realize when I ordered this just how heavy duty it is. It looks like this piece of equipment will stand up to a LOT of use (and abuse). I'm VERY impressed!I'm a personal trainer, and believe that I will use this with clients as well. Both for rehab work as well as core work. I really felt my obliques when I got off of this puppy.Not for the feignt of heart! You have to really work at this.

We ordered the Fitter First Bongo Board in March. After over two months of regular use, the whole family agrees it is a big hit. While I use it for improving lower body and core strength, my kids use it as a fun way to improve balance. Whenever the kids' friends or cousins come over, they, inevitably find their way over to it and are hooked quickly. Our six and eight year olds picked it up within 30 minutes; the teenagers can't wait to figure out more tricks; and even Mom and Dad found their balance within a short time.For workout purposes, I use it three-four times a week for about 10-15 minutes. I incorporate it into my circuit routine to give my lower muscles a bigger challenge. For varying exercises, I checked out web-videos for demonstrations. Some of my favorite moves include: deep squats, tossing a ball against the wall (or to a partner) while balancing, and twisting for a full rotation.We highly recommend the Fitter First Bongo Board for its excellent quality, for providing a great workout supplement and for general fun.

I'm in my 30s and started getting back into skateboarding at the local skate park a few months ago after a 20 year hiatus. I was doing decent enough, but I have problems going in both directions in the same stance confidently ('fakie' for the boarders). I bought the Bongo Board hoping for more balance, and I was more than pleasantly surprised. The hardware is very heavy-duty and sturdy. I'm about 235lbs and my roommate is about 260lbs and it holds both of us fine.It really does take about 3 days to get comfortable, but the included manual is great. Since I was skating already, I picked it up faster, but my roommate, who's never skateboarded or done anything like that was grooving after 3 days. We're still doing it on a carpet since the roll is slower.After about 4 days of doing it inside on and off during the day, we were so sore in our legs and stomach. You can immediately feel it in your butt, thighs and stomach if you follow the directions. We just keep it in the living room and hop on it when the mood hits for a few minutes and it's fun and good exercise.I cannot wait to see how my skateboarding improves. I highly recommend this product if you want to build your core strength and are willing to realize that the board is a challenge no matter what your skill. And it's FUN!!!

This probably should get 5 stars, but its a little more intense than I was hoping for so I gave it 4. A friend of mine had one of these when we were kids and I thought I was getting the same thing. My friend's had a cylinder tube and the board only went side to side. This one has tapered ends on the tube so the board can go in all directions. Makes it harder to master. Got it for a first grader. She likes it and uses it, but I think it may be abit much for her and she would be better off starting on a simpler board.Well made. We've had it a year. Seems like it will last alot longer. Really is good for balance, but is definatley challenging. I was very good at using my friends and would balance on it like forever, but the first time I got on this one, I ended up on the ground. I've gotten better, but its never gotten to the point of being easy. Make your kids wear helmets.

So I'm a runner and I got this mostly for my hips, but also a little for fun. It gets tiring,easy to get the hang of, and really has helped strengthen my hips. Every weekend while I'm watching TV i use it, so it's very handy. I don't have time to do my hundreds pf hip strengthening exercises, so being to multi-task while on the balance bored is great. Plus this is fun! Helps keep my core in pretty good shape too. I highly recommend this if you need to strengthen your hips, legs muscles, or core. The blue wheel is connected to the board so it doesn't fly out from under you, and it is very safe. Another plus, which i was very thankful for, was that it was easy to assemble. I still can't get some of the plastic off it though, but otherwise this was a wise purchase for me and it gets used all the time.
