A few weeks ago I purchased How Patterns Work The Fundamental Principles of Pattern Making and Sewing in Fashion Design by Assembil Books and it doesn't teach you how to draft patterns but it does teach you how patterns work and why they're put together they way that they are. I'm not yet done reading it but I will read it cover to cover also. I'm about half way through it and the information definitely fills in the learning gaps. As for Patternmaking for Fashion Design I'm happy with my purchase. I order it on June12 and it was delivered on June 15. This is a great book and although is from 1995 it is still one of the best I have seen. I can't wait to start my practice learning and put in practice in actual work.
