I’ve been wearing my first pair of Sparthose Compression Socks 20-30mmgh for 9 hrs now, and I have to say these are the best I have worn. I realize others said there is no cushion for these socks but, in my opinion they have cushion and a seamless achilles’ heel and arch support (which I really need) and have not seen in other brands I’ve bought. They also have the right amount of thickness. My calves are large and I wear a size 8.5 shoe so I bought the L/XL which are perfect and have a little extra room not to be binding, but I think they are stretchy enough to fit larger sizes comfortably and you won’t break a finger trying to get them on. They also have great compression. I’m just an average person, I do not work for or have any affiliation what-so-ever with this company and I’m not getting paid for my review in any way. It’s just my honest opinion. **Q: Calf size is almost 19"...ordr l/xl or l/xl wide??** A: Technically L/XL but it depends on your compression desire. I would buy both and see which ia more comfortable for you. Returnt the other. **Q: i have a 13 " calf...what size should I get? I need compression as have edema** A: I have a 16 inch calf, and the L/XL is a great fit. I like these better than all the other compression socks I've purchased. **Q: Will these also protect from uv rays?** A: No, never worn these except in long pants. I could tell the minute I put the socks on that they are the best pair I have ever purchased. They fit perfectly, they look great, there is plenty of toe room, they are available in brown - a rarity , the reviews are great, and they are not too warm even though they are thicker than plain nylon socks...and they are incredibly comfortable. Aside from being completely invisible as a black consumer I also have a 23 inch calf so the odds of the right fit are practically insurmountable. I was online in search of a pair of wide calf compression stockings that come in brown and took a chance on these. This brown is way too dark for me but I just had to come here and leave a review because the quality of these socks is superb. They are thick and resilient. More a winter or fall sock in my view. they have just enough stretch to them to be able to get them on easily with enough bounce-back to provide quality moderate support to your legs. The XXL tended to have more foot room than I needed but that's to be expected. I enjoy not having my toes tightly compressed, wiggle room is best for me.
